Anybody using lots of NCE Switch-Its?22 Dec 2005 17:26 GMT2
I'm about ready to start putting in some stationary decoders on my
layout. I'm leaning toward going cheap and simple...that is, NCE
Switch-It decoders, but I was a little worried about the extra
electrical load on the DCC signal (on the rails). I have enough capacity

I have what appears to be a Fowler 3F 0-6-0 tender loco, in what looks to be
a maroon colour. The running number 3775 is on the tender (yellow numerals)
and the loco has a crest in a lined square on the cabside, also in yellow
There is no company name on the loco

I'm planning to have a 12 guage stranded wire bus for my 15 x 20 oval but
have two questions about feeder wires.  I have some 18 guage speaker wire
that I'd like to use but is there a problem in the fact that the two wires
are of different materials?  I have a DCC system

I'm new to the hobby and am looking to put together one of the Atlas HO
layouts from one of their layout plans.  I've been looking at various
resources and found that Code 83 track looks more realistic than Code 100.
Does anyone know if there are any issues with building one of ...

Can anyone identify these couplings please?
They are Hornby type but very small, they have a  hole in the body end and
rotate on a pin on the chassis.
They are fitted on Inter City coaches made by Airfix Products 1975 (on the

Have been waiting for these for some time but have just heard that one shop
has sent back all his stock as a pin in the bogie float mech has failed!
Seems they were all the same.

HI All      My name is Paul Thompson and I worked for the Southern
Railway as a Carman at the Alex. VA. yard from 76 to 90 until they
