Seeking advanced help on resin casting13 Dec 2005 15:05 GMT23
I'm working on a project involving casting parts in resin, one which
tests the limits of the casting process. I'm in over my head and could
use some help from someone knowledgable about this stuff.
Please note that I'm *not* looking for general beginner-level how-to

Question in.re. the First Streamliners13 Dec 2005 12:59 GMT12
Curious about an aspect of the first streamliners, and wonder what the
group might have to say.  I watched the Pentrex "Tour of the M-10000"
tonight, and recently read several reviews of the Con-Cor HO Zephyr,
and it raised a question in my mind.
Spray Foam question?13 Dec 2005 12:47 GMT7
Just a thought, and I haven't been here in a while so this has probably been
addressed before. Has anyone tried using the spray foam that is usually
used to insulate windows. I use it all the time for that purpose, and it
seems you could contour and slope it into rolling hills etc. ...

My layout project's website13 Dec 2005 10:29 GMT9
I hope you all don't mind my posting about my website. I know it's a British
layout and the main focus on this group from what time I've been in here seems
to be American but I'm hoping you'll all indulge me! ;)

Narrow Gauge12 Dec 2005 20:12 GMT4
Apropos of the comments on narrow gauge in the Modeller in the  "Jan Ed of
Mod Rail"  thread,   what are other peoples views on Roy Dock and Paul
Towers editorships?    In the last modeller was a bit of a salutation to
Dock in the letters page,  but my memory was of him driving MRN ...
A newbie asks......12 Dec 2005 19:33 GMT45
Greetings all. I've been lurking here for a few months while
contemplating building a small layout after 20 plus years away from
the hobby. I'm impressed at how much some things have advanced in that
time, and inspired by some of the great layouts I've seen on the net.
F3AA configuration12 Dec 2005 14:13 GMT24
I was wondering if a railroad may have resorted to a back-to-back, F3AA
arrangement at the rear of a train with the caboose in the lead for a local
freight run. Would this type of push scenario be OK to implement on a model
railroad?
"Emperor ofthe North"12 Dec 2005 11:32 GMT12
If you are not familiar with this title, make sure you catch it on one of
the old Movie Channels.
Programing track12 Dec 2005 10:01 GMT23
I need to change some Cv and loco address, mainly on Gold and ESU locosound
decoders. As my layout is not operational at the moment so it has not locos
on it, can I use it for Programming On the Main or is it better to set up a
separate programming track?
Update from last Christmas -- N-Scale for my son12 Dec 2005 08:39 GMT3
Hi, all --
Last year around this time I posted a question regarding getting an N-Scale
setup for my son, who was then 7 1/2.  We were going with N-Scale because he
shares a room with his twin sister, and an HO would have dominated both his
