Any idea's chaps? (or chapessies!)09 Jan 2006 21:42 GMT10
Whishing to construct a coal mine in 4mm scale. The book 'Modelling aspects
of the Coal Industry' has plans of pit-head gear, which shows wheels of  6cm
dia.
I understand that these wheels were actually spoked as per a bicycle. Any

Like to share some shots of my layout. I'm far from a pro photographer, but
thought some of you might enjoy

engine light question09 Jan 2006 20:30 GMT5
Forgive me but I have a question on engine lights. I noticed that some
modern era model engines have a yellowish-orange flashing light on the
roof. It looks somewhat like an orange flashing light that you might
see on top of a van or truck that's out doing electrical or road
Bachmann 0n3009 Jan 2006 17:05 GMT3
Any comments on this scale of loco from Bachmann, and the availability in
the UK.
4x6 O gauge layouts09 Jan 2006 12:53 GMT1
On my now dead old PC, I had a couple of links to 4x6 layouts, and how
to create them.  Now, I can't seem to find these websites.  Can anyone
direct me to some good websites that have examples of 4x6 O gauge
layouts and how to create them?
4x6 layout O gauge websites?09 Jan 2006 12:52 GMT2
I have searched mostly in vain for 4x6 O gauge layout websites.  Can
anyone direct me to a few?  I'm thinking of redoing my layout and need
a few good ideas.
Thank you.

Thought there would have been a comment by now. Looks like I'm first cab off
the rank.
Picked mine up from Ron's place on Thurs. I noticed he said he was posting
them in alphabetical order, so being a "W", I thought it would be a while
Digitrax DS64 craziness09 Jan 2006 04:00 GMT2
Just got a DS64 for Xmas.
I hooked it up to the new sectional layout I'm building, connecting it to 4
turnouts (w/Peco solenoid machines) and my Zephyr. Everything worked fine. I
made no modifications; I hooked it up right out of the box.
RFI - 100 T Barber S-2 wheelbase09 Jan 2006 00:25 GMT3
Can someone please give me the correct wheelbase for a 100 T Barber S-2
roller bearing truck?   I'm trying to measure some car dimensions from a
side-on photograph, and it's the only point of reference I have (the
wheels are all in shadow)
James Mays Top Toys08 Jan 2006 23:37 GMT21
This programme was on BBC2 on Wednesday night, I missed it but caught
the last few minutes. Looks like it was a good show, sorry I missed it
He had a Hornby train set (yes a proper train set, not a model
railway). This seemed to be on a board only about three or three and a
Hornby platform track centres08 Jan 2006 18:45 GMT1
If using a Hornby R460 platform as an island, does anyone know what the
distance between centres of the track either side should be?
Thanks

Point Motors08 Jan 2006 17:32 GMT20
I am designing my new layout (large N gauge 4 track loop with junction) and
need to consider all of the wiring before I start laying any track.
The layout has over 20 turnouts/slips plus the fiddle yard ones and I
wondered what point motors are available.
Bachman USRA 2-10-208 Jan 2006 15:32 GMT3
Has anyone bought one of these? How do they run?
Thanks.

Narrow gauge 08 Jan 2006 15:14 GMT1
Thanks again for all the help.
It appears that  the 7mm scale is the one to go for.
Now who would you deal with on loco kits and rolling stock
Can I use commercial chassis.
Couplings08 Jan 2006 11:22 GMT7
Having just spent half an hour examining slow-moving trains with a
strong light and a large magnifying glass, I have come to the
conclusion that it is the crappy tension lock couplers which are
causing my trains (trucks in particular) to derail.  And the longer
