HOn30?04 Jan 2006 08:57 GMT1
Does anyone still do HOn30? I started to build an HOn30 layout nearly
20 years ago but had to tear it down when we remodeled the house. I
have a brass Shay and some rolling stock that's been in storage ever
since, and am considering selling it now.
Camera on train04 Jan 2006 04:09 GMT31
Has anyone tried to place a small camera in the cab of a loco? Even if the
cab is just the front face (as you see in the cab view in the videos). I
have the camera and a loco that I am willing to work on, but am not quite
sure what to do next.
EMU maroon livery04 Jan 2006 02:47 GMT36
Sorry chaps, in an earlier thread someone mentioned a 'clacton'  class
308 in maroon livery - The only units I know of to receive maroon
livery were the 309s and much googling later that is still the case -
Did any other sets get a maroon livery.

Hornby 2-8-003 Jan 2006 22:34 GMT2
I recently bought a GWR Hornby 2-8-0 on Ebay and a gearwheel dropped out
on its first run. Unfortunately there were no instructions with the loco
and I can't see how to open up the tender. Any clues?
Thanks
OT(slightly) - UK TrainSim site03 Jan 2006 20:27 GMT3
Sorry for the OT-ness...
Does anyone know if www.uktrainsim.com and the associated forums are
down/off-line for any reason or just my ISP playing up?
TIA,
Track Cleaning03 Jan 2006 18:01 GMT51
Can anyone recommend a method other than the abrasive block?
At one stage in the near future I will not be able to stretch the necessary
distance and I'm looking for a comfortable alternative. I recall that orbit
produced  a coach for N gauge with a pad and liquid - is this still in
HobbyOne - Poor Form mate03 Jan 2006 11:59 GMT15
folks may recall I sought details of Brisbane Hobby shops for my visit to
the city.
I went to Hobby One and as well as drooling over the items I was chasing, (3
locos and a set of new Teaks and Pullmans) was interested in a few back
DCC headscratcher03 Jan 2006 10:09 GMT11
I'm trying to chip up my new Class 110, which has the new Hornby
5-pole ringfield motor (is this the same as the one in the
tender-drive A3?  I guess so).
Two different chips return ERR02 (motor fault) on this motor, although
DCC questions from an idiot03 Jan 2006 07:53 GMT3
There are many things in the hobby that I pretty well know my stuff
about. AT the club I do most of the scenery and operations as well as
business of the club.  I'm even allowed to do trackwork and sometimes I
can even weather cars....:-)
Decoder testing question03 Jan 2006 04:00 GMT2
Hi, I have a decoder that I suspect is having problems. Right now, all
functions seem to be working ok (lights, sound, etc.) but I can't get
the locomotive to move.
I've already reset the decoder, etc. so its not any problem like

Thanks in advance

Track building software02 Jan 2006 22:28 GMT2
I am a newbie to model railroading.  My 4 yearolds fascination has me
hooked.
We just started with a Lionel Fastrac System.  Pennsylvania Set.  I have
just built a platform in the basement.  It is 4' x 14' long with 2- 4' x 3'
Low temperature solder02 Jan 2006 20:37 GMT7
My supplier of low temperature solder and flux for white metal models
has turned out not to be.  Does anyone know where I can get this,
please?

expansion gaps in OO02 Jan 2006 20:05 GMT3
I have almost finished building baseboards in the loft, and expect to start
track laying in a couple of weeks. In the summer, the loft gets horrendously
hot, and I believe rail expansion can result in buckling if gaps are not
left. What sort of gap are we talking about between metre ...
