Does anyone know of a good site to find plans or dimensional drawings
of plate girder bridges, trestles, water towers, etc?

Railways of India02 Jan 2006 19:25 GMT4
Over the next few weeks I shall be travelling in India, both North and
South, and rumour has it that they have quite a lot in the way of railway
interest, including both preserved and "working" steam. Can anybody give me
any pointers about what on no account to miss in the twelve ...
Gay Joe class 3502 Jan 2006 18:10 GMT18
The Heljan O-gauge class 35 'Hymek' finally turned up late this afternoon.
Got to say I'm well impressed!

Newbie Question02 Jan 2006 16:02 GMT21
First foray into the world of model railway and falling at the first
hurdle. I have some peco streamline straight track in 'N'. What is the
best way to cut it to length as I seem to be ripping it from its
sleepers at the moment? I am presuming that it needs a decent vice, but
Bachmann Motor Types02 Jan 2006 09:50 GMT8
I have just fitted a Lenz silver decoder to my new Bachmann Standard 5 MT
loco, no problems with the fitting and nice little plastic box provided for
the decoder to sit in.
Now my question, Does anyone now the settings for CV 50 (motor type) for
Ho Mehano train02 Jan 2006 08:33 GMT2
The Santa Clause brought a train Mehano to my son.
But during the first stake on rail, the locomotive seems to slip on the
spot, although no car are dragged and although it have no hillside on
the circuit there.
Hornby Releases02 Jan 2006 05:41 GMT35
What follows is a snip of something that just appeared on the Yahoo SeMG.
Looks like my prayers have been answered - there will be M7s to run on
Gosport with out having to build the damn things ;-)
Hope everyone else finds something of interest.
Fixing older Kato N-Scale Loco's02 Jan 2006 03:49 GMT3
Well I had been out of the hobby for a while, but I have recently
dusted off the train boxes.  I have a few problems with my original
units in the Blue boxes.  Here are a few of the symptoms:
On a few units I have a random high pitched shrill sound.  It still

Flying Pigs01 Jan 2006 22:27 GMT94
What are "flying pigs" beyond the obvious airborne porcines.
This Merkin isn't in on all the nicknames.

Which A4 in OO01 Jan 2006 20:19 GMT31
LNER really isn't my area of interest, but my son has spent too much time on
the NRM website and has become fascinated with the Mallard story.......
So knowing nothing about current and recent models of the A4s, what are the
pros and cons of the easily available models? I presume ...
Tinkering in N01 Jan 2006 04:01 GMT1
I currently model in OO, but my layout has to get put away too often :-(
I was thinking of putting together a "small" layout in N - I can have a
fairly long "shelf" for a couple of lines, but am wondering what the
smallest radius would be at either end, so as to get a dog bone type ...
mindesign - crane hooks01 Jan 2006 03:57 GMT12
I found a source for some neat looking crane hooks, called "Lobster Claw"
hooks and they have a clasp retainer/release just like the big ones. A bag
for about $4 US and available in several sizes. Also various chain and
cable.
