Over the next few weeks I shall be travelling in India, both North and
South, and rumour has it that they have quite a lot in the way of railway
interest, including both preserved and "working" steam. Can anybody give me

First foray into the world of model railway and falling at the first
hurdle. I have some peco streamline straight track in 'N'. What is the
best way to cut it to length as I seem to be ripping it from its

LNER really isn't my area of interest, but my son has spent too much time on
the NRM website and has become fascinated with the Mallard story.......
So knowing nothing about current and recent models of the A4s, what are the
pros and cons of the easily available models? I presume ...

I was thinking of putting together a "small" layout in N - I can have a

smallest radius would be at either end, so as to get a dog bone type ...

I found a source for some neat looking crane hooks, called "Lobster Claw"
hooks and they have a clasp retainer/release just like the big ones. A bag
for about $4 US and available in several sizes. Also various chain and
cable.
