1:87 Model town28 Jan 2006 17:53 GMT8
I have built a 1:87 model town. At night the town is lit up
with lights from houses, buildings, trains, traffic and car
lights etc. I have built up the town using cardboard, foil,  clay, fibreoptic
cable, micro globes, anything I could
Facing Points?28 Jan 2006 15:48 GMT43
I have had a few replies on the RMWEB to my request for suggestions
improvements to my new track layout. One of the criticisms that has been
levelled at the layout is the fact that there is a set of facing points at
the west entrance to the station.
Decoder getting a little warm - is that right ?28 Jan 2006 14:43 GMT3
I've fitted a Lenz Silver decoder into my DCC ready Hornby 4P. (I
suspect DCC ready only means it's got the socket, not somewhere to put
the decoder).
I've had to stick the decoder to the inside of the plastic body, as
Harbor depots in or near Chicago28 Jan 2006 13:19 GMT10
Where there any harbors with depots in the Chicago area?

New Lionel Snowplow not running properly28 Jan 2006 12:44 GMT8
Bought a new Lionel rotary snowplow 6-18498 off e-bay 12/05.  I can
barely get the engine to start running.  I have tried both my new 80w
transformer, older 40w transformer, small old style track layout and
new fast track.  When I first got the engine, it would start but
Ground Throws28 Jan 2006 12:12 GMT8
Has anyone used the caboose Industries 220S electric ground throw?
Did you like it? Why, or why not.
Did you modify it at all? How?
Is there a better one on the market? What is it?
What type of foam is ok to use?28 Jan 2006 05:47 GMT31
Hello.  I have a question that I need a better answer for if any of you
can help me.  I am building a O scale layout and was told to use either
beadboard or polyfoam board.  Well my local lumber yard only carries
something called dense foam.  Would this be ok to use in my layout as
Finescale track28 Jan 2006 00:06 GMT122
I'm currently trying to decide what track to use on my new OO finescale
layout. Can someone tell me what are the differences between SMP and C&L
flexi track? Also, I was considering using Marcway ready-built points
(building my own sounds a bit daunting) but do these have chairs ...
Wiring KATO double crossover27 Jan 2006 22:49 GMT1
My layout is basically two loops connected by a KATO double crossover.
It has run great but now I want to go to run two locos using two KATO
controllers (DCC is not an option for me at this point). The problem
that I'm encountering is with the design of the double crossover. On ...
Foam roadbed...27 Jan 2006 22:22 GMT5
Several years back I used a foam roadbed material on an HO layout.  For
the life of me, I can't remember the manufacturer of the product.
Anyone have an Idea?

Wire for Omega Loops27 Jan 2006 21:29 GMT13
I am in the process of constructing connections 'tween point motors and
point activation mechanisms on my layout, and have come a cropper on the
type of wire to use. It needs to be quite robust, with almost no flexibility
for changing shape, yet I need to be able to bend it to ...
Whiny Spectrum Shay27 Jan 2006 17:38 GMT11
Just bought my first Bachmann 3 truck Shay. It's a work of art to be
sure, and a pleasure
to watch running along a track--if you're deaf!  What's with the whine?
It's LOUD!
A4 'orses27 Jan 2006 15:09 GMT2
One shiny new Hornby A4 has now arrived.  DCC ready, for values of
ready which exclude being able to get the bugger apart.  Anyone know
how to disconnect the rod which connects the wheels to the body?
Thanks,

two references is "The" right way, as one seems to have a lot more steps in
