Replica Railways24 Jan 2006 20:37 GMT1
Can anyone direct me to a source for Replica Railways, please?
I thought there was an outlet in or near Swindon, but I can't find it.
I will be near Swindon this weekend and thought that I may try and find
it but they are elusive. Do they have an internet presence?

LMS 1920s DEMU set24 Jan 2006 18:33 GMT2
Anyone ever seen an illustration of the DEMU built in the 1920s by the
LMS (a four car set converted from the two two-car Holcombe branch
EMUs) - I am trying to produce a sketch, what I have so far is . . .

Buying blind24 Jan 2006 18:20 GMT38
Spent much of this afternoon at the Calne Model Railway Show. My six year
old son was keen to aquire something to run on "our" model railway. As the
layout is a small dockside setting, we had established that nothing larger
than a six coupled tank engine would be apropriate, so we ...
Lighting Density24 Jan 2006 11:16 GMT5
I am planning a basement layout in HO and would like to start to get
some idea of how much light is required.  How much lighting power per
unit area does everyone use?  Units may be watts/meter^2, lumens/foot^2,
or any other convenient unit.
O scale and DCC24 Jan 2006 00:23 GMT1
I have been lurking and surfing about DCC since I retired a few months
ago, as I get back into the layout business.  So I am not going to ask
which is the "best" DCC system, although there is a confusingly huge
number available now.

What make of rail?23 Jan 2006 20:52 GMT8
I have recently acquired some oo gauge flexible NiAg track which is
not identified.
The sleepers are plain brown plastic and the rail is attached at every
third sleeper by metal clamps. The actual rail is nickle silver.
What colour for the baseboard23 Jan 2006 20:46 GMT14
Am new to modelling and wonder if anyone can suggest what colour to paint
the baseboard as an undercoat.
Have just been to Pendon and grey seems to be the underlying colour on the
layouts.
eBay query?23 Jan 2006 01:07 GMT27
It's a while since I used eBay so can anyone tell me what happened to the
"send payment reminder" button? It's probably just an oversight on the part
of the buyer so I don't want to report him as being a non-payer, I just want
to send him a friendly reminder. TIA
Layout23 Jan 2006 00:50 GMT1
After taking a few years off from working on my layout, due to work, I
have gotten back at it in earnest.  I also finally pulled together a
website.  If you want to see a major pink foam mountain, I've got one.

C&S/AT&SF?23 Jan 2006 00:03 GMT5
Hoping one of the Sante Fe gang can answer a question for me - I saw an
ad for the new Atlas SW-1200 in O scale; one of the offered models is
lettered C&S/AT&SF - but is painted in the CB&Q black/grey livery.
What's the relationship between these roads?  I thought the Colorado

Code .100 or Code .07522 Jan 2006 21:50 GMT4
I'm just starting out in model rail and have purchased a few items of
rolling stock (Bachmann 00 gauge). I'm at the point where I want to buy
some track. I'd planned on using Peco code .075, though following a
comment from a dealer about re-wheeling my rolling stock I'm not sure
