There was a post here a while ago asking if anyone had bought, seen or run one of these new engines. I have a couple of their Premier locomotives and they run well for the money. I'm tempted to take them up on their $180 offer which includes the eight passenger cars.

Someone ought to market an "air freshener" that smells like the creosote on railroad ties. I love that smell, and will always associate it with trains. It would give model railroads the scent of authenticity. :)

Wal-Mart has the Norscot HO scale earthmoving equipment for $5.97 each. This is the same equipment that Walthers sells for $19.99 a copy! No wonder it seems that model railroading is becoming a hobby for the rich. Jeff

Hanging 'round the tracks today, I saw a piece of equipment I'd never seen before: actually two. There was a short train of gondolas filled with bundles of ties, obviously for a tie-replacement project, pulled by a hi-rail big-rig tractor. I'd seen hi-rail pickups, but not big ...
