Whats in a name?05 Feb 2006 05:46 GMT2
A nun was complaining to her Mother Superiour about the language the
construction crew that was working next door was using.
The Mother said that they were simple, God fearing men who simply called a
spade a spade.
Trainorama Brake Vans05 Feb 2006 00:32 GMT1
Went to Toms today and bought a few of the new brake vans. Absolutely

Peco Turn Outs04 Feb 2006 20:00 GMT3
Hi John.
Thanks for your prompt reply. I have ajusted the wheel gauge slightly wider
to accommodate variances in my track. The wheels only come off at about 2

Peco Turn Outs04 Feb 2006 17:14 GMT1
I am having problems with rolling stock & pony truck wheels coming off on
turn outs. The frog points are wearing & allowing wheels to take the wrong
track when they drop on to the worn point. Can I rebuild the worn point back

bogies off to get to the screws underneath?

Airbrush, paint, primer, decals, weathering, etc04 Feb 2006 03:56 GMT4
Guys, given the current questions on the above stuff (including
questions about single or double action airbrushes), may I recommend
the purchase of the British Railway Modelling magazine DVD "Right
Track 3 - Painting, Lining and Finishing" which came out just afore
First class yelkow stripe marking04 Feb 2006 03:38 GMT6
The yellow stripe on the cantrail of first class compartments
appeared in the 1920s on London commuter stock.
From comments on the group I gather that BR took time to apply this
marking to their coaches.
Help - CNW spine car TOFC deck images04 Feb 2006 01:55 GMT1
Hello anybody know if there are photos online of the decks of CNW's spine
cars in the series CNW 780233 ?
Another Ballast Car Question03 Feb 2006 22:09 GMT13
I imagine some railroads must acquire their ballast from off-road
sources.  If so, would they send their own ballast cars to be loaded
there, or have the ballast delivered in regular hoppers by the
connecting road?
Airbrushing Questions  -  Primer ?03 Feb 2006 19:48 GMT4
I have done a lot of spray painting with large scale painting equipment, but
I'm new to airbrushing.
I have several old MDC unpainted / undecorated heavyweight "shorty"
passenger cars.  They appear to be moulded styrene.  The color of the
