Private Owner Wagons21 Feb 2006 08:42 GMT16
I am looking at creating some private owner wagons for my layout set in
the west country, and wanted some information on liveries. There are a
few listed on the HMRS website, but I was looking at the many books
which have photographs of wagons.
smoking ban21 Feb 2006 04:14 GMT48
The governments ban on smoking in all public places was passed last night,
so no more kettles!!!!!
As far as I am aware there is no smoking in exhibitions as it is, there will
not be from the time the ban takes effect anyway. But will this effect clubs
C&L 00 track templates21 Feb 2006 01:52 GMT9
After the long discussion about finescale track that ensued
from a question I posted a few weeks ago, I decided to go
out and buy a C&L 00 B6 point kit (the one that inlcudes the
crossing and switch blades etc.) to get me started, and a
N-Gauge curves21 Feb 2006 01:05 GMT3
I am attempting to fit the proverbial quart into a pint pot by setting
up a very small N-Gauge layout on a 40" X 16" baseboard.
At one end of the board I would like to have a curve off the front to
the rear [effectively a half oval] to allow me to have a very small
Eureka Garratt20 Feb 2006 23:32 GMT46
I've had a look at the Eureka website and the proposed weathering.
I dont want my Garrett looking like a rusting hulk!
I dont care what someone   thinks the photos show. I want my Garrett lightly
weathered, enough to highlight the details and take away that "black

AD 60 class with flangeless drivers.20 Feb 2006 11:32 GMT1
There was a discussion on this matter a few weeks back, and I am indebted to
Craig Mackey for supplying the following information.
The initial trials were carried out in 1956, with two engines being fitted
with flangeless tyres on "the main driving wheels" In May 1959, a ...

code 83 rail joiners...19 Feb 2006 17:06 GMT7
Can anyone reccomend a rail joiner for Atlas code 83 flex track.  They
include several in each turnout package, but don't offer them as a
seperate item.  The code 100 joiners are way too clunky.

Googling hasn't turned anything up sp far.   Has anyone got any
pointers to suppliers who may have them in stock?
Revell, Con-cor or Monogram Model kit for Big Boy Train?18 Feb 2006 20:33 GMT5
I want the best looking model I can get. It looks like the Monogram set is a
snap-together, no glue set so I am guessing it's not going to look that
good.
Can anyone recommened either the Revel or Con-cor models? Do you know if

Replacement Bogie/ringfield motor18 Feb 2006 00:18 GMT2
I have a Hornby 110 DMU, which is bogie driven with a ringfield motor.
It's fine, except for the presence of the traction tyre...
So, can I get a replacement bogie/motor without the tyre, or is there
another option ?
