Another DCC Wiring Question17 Feb 2006 15:55 GMT6
I was going to solder the feed wires to the track to the copper strip
that was fitted at each board join. This would have given at least a 1
metre spacing and would have been easier than soldering to the rail. I
also have the problem that as this is in a loft access to the outer

Yahoo/AOL Groups. Charging per mail proposals17 Feb 2006 12:50 GMT6
Apologies to those who consider this off topic, but if you are e member
of a Yahoo Group [model rail has any number] and receive e-mails or even
the dreaded digest download the link below will provide some interesting
reading. This silly idea needs to be nipped in the bud before ...
Question on minimum HO radius17 Feb 2006 03:43 GMT15
I'm thinking on trying a layout using an O Gauge train on HO track (or
On30 as I guess it's commonly called). From what I understand so far
(haven't been into this hobby for a real long time) the minimum HO
radius is about 18" which I assume is formulated to accept any type of

O scale Layout on 48x32 table? Layout help? Any help?16 Feb 2006 17:04 GMT5
My son has a Thomas table and we are moving on to model railroads now. I
thought, with space being limited we might try making a board that fits on
his table. We also want to try O because we have some of Grandpa's old
trains and would be a good place to start with a 4 year old. ...
Update on question about track clearances16 Feb 2006 11:33 GMT2
Thanks to the previous replies I looked at John Allens Timesaver layout.
I used Peco code 83 and No 5 turnouts to get a layout similar to that
shown. It took me all day (12 hours with 2 short breaks for meals) to
build and wire the layout for DCC operation. I have not used switch
a note of thanks to the regulars16 Feb 2006 04:15 GMT1
I'm a long time lurker. who is (finally) about to begin his N scale dream
layout. I plan on posting pics showing what I hope to be steady progress.
Just wanted to say thanks to the longtime posters. Even though a lot of us
may not post often (if ever) I know that there are many out ...
Bachmann On30 Two-Truck Shay problem16 Feb 2006 02:05 GMT1
The loco just started to jerk and even not work at all. Used to run as
smooth as can be. It's electrical caused I'm sure, as headlight also
works only when it does move (jerks). Cleaned track and all wheels
thoroughly. Still jerks. Inspected underside and whisked away anything
"new" Lord of the Isles set16 Feb 2006 00:45 GMT13
I put new in inverted commas because the tooling is UNCHANGED. When I was
told of the re-release of this set I was excited as I figured Hornby would
be able to really go to town on this and make it a beautiful scale
model.......... It's a toy and as clunky as it has always been - ...
Removing Paint from a Bachmann Spectrum Model15 Feb 2006 16:52 GMT2
I have purchased a Bachmann Spectrum 2-10-0 Decapod. It is lettered for the
Seaboard Air Line. I intend to reletter and renumber it for a specific DT&I
locomotive refitted at the Rouge Works by Ford Motor Company. I would like
to know the best way to remove the SAL lettering without ...
n gauge15 Feb 2006 09:40 GMT10
I am thinking of setting up a smallish "N" gauge layout, and as I have 2 DCC
sets I thought I would use one of them to control it. Now my problem, does
anyone produce RTR locomotives (BR) with DCC decoders installed. I have had
enough trouble installing decoders into 00 RTR stock ...

Fine Scale Miniature Kits14 Feb 2006 16:48 GMT3
   I have 4 kits I don't think I will use. I'm not a collector. I build
stuff. Looked on E-Bay--didn't see them listed. The kits are the John Allen
2 stall engine house--Starkey's Coal--the Rock Bunker--and the Rail Car
Repair Shed. Any interest ??? David Davis
