Replacement wheels31 Mar 2006 18:30 GMT3
Is it only Ultrascale that do direct replacement wheels for RTR diesel
locos? I have just fitted a Modeltorque motor to a Lima 121 bubble car and
would like to replace the wheels but it seems to me that Ultrascale are:
a) Expensive, ~£15 +p&p for 4 axles
Santa Fe SWs - hood or cab forward?31 Mar 2006 09:37 GMT4
During the 1950s, did the ATSF railway run their SW-series switchers with
the hood or the cab forwards?  I have a photo taken in the 1970s which seems
to be showing an SW8 running cab-forward, but I'm not sure if this was the
case in the 1950s.  I would appreciate any information ...

Does anyone happen to have a component library for Right Track that
includes 027 switches?  I think it's the only component that I cannot
find in Atlas free version.

Newbie:  Where to start30 Mar 2006 05:27 GMT16
I'm an old guy (71) with some time on my hands, but not a whole lot of
space.  I'm thinking about getting into this hobby, but where do I
start?  From what I've seen, I'm inclined to go N Scale at the
largest, maybe Z Scale.
Alexandra Palace29 Mar 2006 21:40 GMT3
I was told that Lenz were displaying but I don't see them on the list
of exhibitors. I assume that it will be the importer so who are they? I
am also surprised not to see Digitrax. Will they be represented by an
agent also? I see that ZTC are listed.
Engines in goods sheds query29 Mar 2006 21:33 GMT13
Looking at track plans there seems to be no way to avoid engines
passing through goods sheds at some locations (the covered type with
doors at each end that is).
There was definately a prohibition on gunpowder vans entering sheds
Model Railroad Design29 Mar 2006 16:53 GMT3
I'm looking for a good model railroad design service to help me with
with a design for a new layout. I'd rather not learn everything  "the
hard way", which can be expensive and time consuming. And, I'd rather
concentrate on building and operating as soon as I could.
roadbed sound dampening29 Mar 2006 09:06 GMT2
I'm in early planning stages for the (HO) Oakcrest & Iroqoius Point
Railway, and my first consideration is the optimum construction method
for the main tabletop. I am considering sandwiching 1/2" or 3/4"
sheetorock on both sides of a sheet of 3/4" plywood. I am also wondering
Sound Decoder for Proto2000 SW9/120029 Mar 2006 09:05 GMT1
I know there is a small engine decoder available for the
Proto2000 SW9/1200.  Has any one put an engine/sound decoder in this model?
If
so please share the specs and many thanks.

Constructing roads for an industrial park29 Mar 2006 04:37 GMT27
I have a small group of industrial buildings in a switching layout. We
must construct  a road and parking lots to make the setup functional.
Walthers has just come out with a road building kit, but it is not
suitable for my circumstances. Their road is a 4 lane street and
Installing Woodland Scenics road system29 Mar 2006 01:53 GMT2
I am about to install a Woodland Scenics road system on a plywood base.
The road material itself is diluted with a fair amount of water. Should
a sealer coat be used before applying the road material to protect the
plywood from the effects of the water?
