Just bought a nice brass engine. The gold colour doesn't suite to me and

I've just finished reading a book about model trains: building them, finding
inspiration, etc. I thoroughly enjoyed it and you may too.
"Playing with Trains: A Passion Beyond Scale" by Sam Posey.
You can see reviews and some sample text on Amazon.com.
Q-Walthers decals ?21 Mar 2006 00:38 GMT5
I'm finishing a Walther's feed-grain elevator and when I applied the decals,
they silvered
a little, even after using Solvaset. I had let the decals dry since Monday
night and I  am a little apprehensive about applying Solvaset again before I

Anyone know if the MOD/War Department owned any 08 shunters (or their LMS

A bird has fallen down my chimney. I am not sure what it is but I think
it must be much bigger than the occasional starling that appears in the
hearth, because it seems to be stuck half way. I thought it had died
yesterday because everything went quiet, but my wife says she heard a

Has anyone had any experience with a product called RUSTALL. I bought
some at a model train show recently and while there was a example of
what it turned out like, no instructions are on the bottle.

Running with a dry smoke unit18 Mar 2006 15:06 GMT4
Is it damaging to an old Lionel steamer to run the smoke unit dry
(liquid or pellets)?
Some of my newer engines have switches to turn the smoke unit off and
instructions not to run it dry.  The old Lionel engines have no
double slip18 Mar 2006 14:34 GMT17
