76 Aster13 Mar 2006 16:12 GMT1
Hello, knows someone advice? I acquired a Live Steam locomotive with the
inscription 76 aster number 607417. Unfortunately the lower firing container
and the description are missing. I need a building sketch and/or a left for
this.
Hornby DCC13 Mar 2006 10:31 GMT20
I see that Hornby have come back into the digital age. Does anyone know if
their DCC kit is NMRA compatible? If so its price is very competitive.
Question for any casting guru13 Mar 2006 08:07 GMT12
IN process of making mold now, water tank, actual dimensions about 1 inch
across and equally as high, wood tank, but I need more than one and standing
downstairs at the mill scribing the board lines isn't what I want to do.
Ok, wood form made, but now comes the question, what ...

Airfix/Dapol Diesel Crane12 Mar 2006 21:58 GMT15
Doing a little searching online, I can't find any reference to a crane of
this type on bogies. I presume it is actually based on an eight wheeled
Booth design used on the Western Region, in all other respects it looks very
similar.
Bought my first American train today12 Mar 2006 20:59 GMT1
For the grand stonking total of £19.09 ($32.94) You struggle to get 2nd hand
ones for that price in the UK yet this one is, apparently, brand new with a
manufacturers warranty.
Still, it was an E-Bay buy so I'll believe it when - or maybe even if! ;) - I
My eyes have been opened about operations..12 Mar 2006 19:07 GMT1
So, for the first time after years in the hobby I had a chance to
participate in an operating session.   A friend here in KC models the
Frisco in HO from Kansas City to Oklahoma; very large layout (35x10)
and all DCC.
Wagon wheels?12 Mar 2006 17:49 GMT3
Are there any proprietry 12mm diameter wagon wheels readily available
that  could be slid off their (2mm) axle to be fitted on a non-common
existing 2mm axle with knurling?
Unbushed metal wheels won't do the job - as in one wheel insulated, one
Rock Island Locomotive12 Mar 2006 07:05 GMT5
I received a photo of a futuristic looking streamlined locomotive with
Rock Island on the side. I presume it is from the 1930s and wonder if anyone
can lead me to a source of more information. With thanks in advance VIN
Miniature fire effect.12 Mar 2006 02:15 GMT11
This past Christmas I noticed in craft shops some artificial tea light
candles that consisted of a plastic base the shape and size of a tea
light and a little plastic or rubber (?) "flame" on top with a LED
inside which the package claimed flickered like a real flame. Operation

Anyone want mine - only £50 - a real bargain :-)
Tank transport11 Mar 2006 23:34 GMT19
Does anyone know how the Army move tanks around these day? If by rail, what
are the wagons like and who owns them?
I guess the Warwells and Rectanks have long gone.

Winfixer and other Problems at Dc3d.co.nz website11 Mar 2006 23:21 GMT4
It appears people are supposedly having problems on my website, re the
download of a FREE model that is passworded and the accusations that a
program called Winfixer is connected to my site.
When I read the  comments I was dismayed that the people concerned did
HO steam shovel11 Mar 2006 21:19 GMT6
Hoping someone here can help me. I'm looking for a small steam shovel in
HO scale. Absolutely nothing shows up in any of the listings on the
Walthers site. Are there any manufacturers of what I'm looking for that
are not with Walthers? Whether I have to build it is not a problem. ...
(slightly) OT11 Mar 2006 20:40 GMT7
Hi guys (and gals)
I've just been given a load of old photos taken I guess in the 70's - mostly
BR blue but a few green 'uns too.
I'm going to scan them and post them up at
