I was given a train set as a child. It's 51 years old and has followed me
around all my life. I know it's not in working order , I think something
snapped in the little control box, and as a kid I couldn't repair it.
There's a big transformer which I believe is in working order.

Why NMRA has not stated any flatness standard to trackwork?
It is easy to say that one should just make the layout track flat, but how
twisted is still flat?
Sharp ups and downs or twists ar not limited by standard.

A friend of mine wondered what kind of sound is the sound of a loco having
compound engine,i.e. a two cylinder loco having the other side of the loco
having cylinder for high pressure steam and the steam is directed not to
chimney but to (larger) low pressure cylinder on the other ...
