If you've read some of my other posts, you'll note that I am getting
ready to make the DCC plunge.   I have done lots of research, including
Tony's, the Dec Model Railroader and more, and am down to a choice of
two systems:  the Digitrax Super Chief Radio or the NCE Power Pro R.  ...

I have a Gaugemaster T3 transformer (uncased) to power a CDU.
The instructions for wiring are vague. I have indentified and conected the
mains inputs, but the instructions say there is one 24V output, but I appear
to have two pairs of two tags each pair outputting 12V!!

Sorry to impose but I have a question about wiring the hornby turntable.
The diagram that came with the turntable seems rather vague. There are the
two wires coming from the turntable and the green wire supplied with the
switch.

O.K., I've been all over town (Home Depot, Lowes, OSH, and independent
stores) and can only locate the white foamboard insulation made of the
ice chest type pressed together foam balls. It finally occurred to me to
call the hobby shop and ask since they specialize in model ...

Each hobby seems to have a short list of preferred mail order hobbly
sellers.  What are the best ones as far as reliability, service,
prices, and availbility?  Mainly I'm looking at all items for N Scale
including track, locomotives, and rolling stock.

For several years I have been using DCC decoders from Lenz or some locally
made brand; both working pretty well. Recently I bought sound decoders (from
Sountraxx). Sound is great,  BUT  pretty soon I found that they are very
sensitive to dirt on the track: even the slightest dirt ...

Where's everybody gone? No new posts for two days? Nothing either on my news

I'm looking for a small passenger train to complement a new trainset
that already has a class 37 in EWS livery. The timeframe is present.
Something like a small "sprinter" type train rather than a HST train
type.

Does anybody know what size drivers Bachmann actually used on their
2-10-4
locos?  I know what size(s) the prototypes had, but I would like to
know  what

Well, I have finally taken the plunge and 'gone DCC' - I have one decoder (a
Lenz Gold), with a Lenz LH100 handset and LZV100. All is working hunky dory,
though I didn't realise that the programming track needed to be connected to
a different output to the main at one point (!)

I have in the last couple of days placed an order with Rails for the new
Heljan Class 33 "Sultan" (Prod Code 3312) Firstly, Rails have it on their
website as "On Order".  Can anyone give me an approximation of how long that
will take to appear, bearing in mind that on hatton's ...
