Hobby Shops in   Northern VA31 May 2006 23:29 GMT7
I'm going to have a couple of free days in Northern Virginia so I'd like to
visit a few hobby shops.  HO Trains are the primary area of interest.
Thanks

Wrenn BR Mk1 horsebox query31 May 2006 23:03 GMT3
I've just acquired the bodyshell, sans doors, of the Wrenn BR Mk1
horsebox. Since the underframes of such items (eg: the Triang GWR one) are
usually as hopeless as the shells are good, this is not necessarily a loss,
and it will become a "sometime" project.
How do you join Walthers turnouts31 May 2006 07:04 GMT10
I'm trying to combine Walthers turnouts with ROCO sectional track and
don't know how to join these right way. The problem is that sectional
track has some tie cutting at ends to let joiners set in easily while
Walthers turnouts have not. I know PECO Code 83 turnouts (well,

N trackage29 May 2006 19:57 GMT1
Hi all, I am using a combination of Peco and Fleischmann track on my layout.
In my opinion, Peco are far superior when it comes to pointwork, and their
flex is much easier to work with, but gee, Fleischmann looks so good doesn't
it. What do others think? Are their other makes ...
which would look smaller - oo or ho?29 May 2006 09:41 GMT34
Given two models of the same prototype engine, which would actually look
smaller? Sorry if this sounds pretty basic, but I suspect a model I bought
on ebay may actually be HO if that is actually the smaller scale - I know
they are both the same gauge.
Warwell Bogies28 May 2006 22:24 GMT6
Do any of the 00 models on the market use the same bogie as fitted to
the Warwell Wagon?

Could someone please refresh my memory as to when British Railways
introduced the yellow band on coach exteriors above first class
accommodation?
Thanks,
Questions on the old dash 8's28 May 2006 17:31 GMT1
I can't remember how long ago......8 - 10 - 12 years ago when the
Spectrum dash-8's came out, several members of the club bought them and
they were painted up in club colors and decaled for our road.
At the time they were a pretty hot item but over the years they have
Spectrum Endorsement28 May 2006 15:20 GMT13
Bachman had done it again!
In addition to building great Spectrum products, they back them with one of
the best service departments of any company I know.  Over the years, I've
return several products to Bachman for service, once for a broken wire, once
Level xing gates query28 May 2006 13:08 GMT4
Further to my last enquiry regarding the MR loco I have been looking at the
photo more closely - The crossing gates are unlike any I have seen before,
heavy square posts about eight feet high with a gas lamp atop each one.
There is no 'bulls-eye' and I cannot see any sign of a wheel ...
