This is a little off topic but does anyone remember the movie "Emperor
of the North"?
As a kid I caught this many times on TV but haven't seen it since then
and the recent interest in model trains has got me to thinking about it

Does anyone know what type of internal lighting is in the 620 / 720
railmotors.
Is it incandescent or fluorescent lighting ??

I need bogies and wheels for 4 coaches I just won and if someone could
assist that'd be great.
The part number I can see on the ones I have here says L5542 - I am also
wondering if there may be other part numbers that would suit as well.

I bought a Proto 2000 PA-1 in Ebay last week, the problem is a terrible
squeak when the locomotive is running with origen in the secondone
truck, I use oil but the noise continued and sometimes stopped the
locomotive, at the end I decided to retire the traction to this truck

am only a boy of 63) Can any body tell me the number & colour of Humbrol
Enamels that is nearest to the Caledonian Railway sky blue please. Many

In lieu of a blog, I'll report here on the progress in making the half-round
channel I need to represent the round variety of HO-scale rain gutters ---  
square gutters are pretty much already done with C-channel in both styrene
and brass from various suppliers.

I'm building an outdoor G Gauge layout that is two reverse loops connected
by a single track main line.  I am using the "spring switch" feature of the
LGB turnouts to always route the train clockwise around both reverse loops.
I am using the LGB #1015K Reverse Loop Set on each ...

just wondering if the running numbers on steam locomotives are in some sort
of code or are they simply chronological order of manufacture, with a
maker's number at the start?

Can anyone confirm that all the BR1/A tenders on the Britannias were
rivetted.  I've got a part scratchbuilt model which has no rivet
detail on a BR1/A tender body and I've never seen such on any picture
I've seen of a Standard Class 7.

We are in the process of building an exhibition layout and need
connectors for wiring between tables and the separate control board.
Which type are being used and are they reliable?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
