Stewart vs Intermountain Engines22 May 2006 07:54 GMT1
I'm planning to buy some F7 units for my layout and have looked over the
Stewart and the Intermountain engines.  Does anyone have experience with
both brands and if so could you tell me how much difference in performance
there may be between brands?

Availability of half-tubing21 May 2006 18:49 GMT20
I want to create reasonably accurate rain gutters for the buildings I'm
modeling.  I could use some of the commercial injection moldings sold for
that purpose, but every one I've seen is unrealistically thick.  Which leads
me to use thin-walled brass channel.  That's fine for ...

Been a while since I gave you all an update so I thought I'd drop a post to you
all.
Basically, I've now started a small layout and have built the baseboard and
added cork tiles to it.
Digitrax Question21 May 2006 14:01 GMT9
Hello everyone. I am considering making the move from DC to DCC. The biggest
question in my mind at this time is; Can set a number of locos in motion
with the Zephyr and let them run on their own without having to have an
individual throttle for each unit?
re: switchstand search.21 May 2006 12:42 GMT8
Go find a scrap metals place in your area.  If they don't have any, then ask
them who is getting scrap metal from the railroads in your area.  You might
also want to check with any railroad museums in the area as they may have
extras that they don't need.
Track gauges21 May 2006 10:05 GMT18
I've been using the Double O Gauge Association (DOGA) finescale
rollagauges. However, I'd like to try using a track gauge similar to
that used by P4/S4 - the sort that consists of a threaded machine screw
onto which are slid washers, spacers etc all held up tight by a spring

Glad to be back20 May 2006 10:40 GMT19
Following a major computer failure about 6 weeks ago coupled with a loss of
back-ups + paper records (Don't ask! Just a series of silly co-incidences)
I've lost all my mail. Bottom line was when I was able to hook up yesterday
I had around 19,000 (nineteen thousand!!!) email ...

Thanks,

Diesel Spotters Guide:19 May 2006 12:11 GMT10
Back in the mid-eighties, I had a book that I considered as the
"Diesel Spotters Guide" for British Rail locomotives.
I remember seeing several pages devoted to locomotives such as the
"Kestral" and the Metropolitan Vickers 10000 (?). This book also went

BR plain green livery - steam19 May 2006 08:47 GMT2
How common was plain green livery on BR steam locos,
particularly on the western region? It seems most current
RTR models of BR era steam locos are either plain black,
lined black or lined green? Is this a gap in the market, or
