Bachmann models & Hornby Zero 111 Aug 2006 15:47 GMT5
I've acquired some Bachmann locos (OK, I admit it - the Thomas series for
the grandchildren) and have an extensive layout using Hornby's (defunct)
Zero 1 system. The Zero 1 chips for each loco have three wires, while the
Bachmann models (which already have a chip of some sort) ...

High Bid On ebay for Walthers Covered Hopper09 Aug 2006 22:40 GMT9
What's with the $171.30 bid for a Walthers 3 bay covered hopper, road
number ATSF304227?  It looks like a regular old Walthers 932-5709 kit
to me.  What am I missing here?
eBay - and model valuations09 Aug 2006 20:22 GMT11
Has anyone else noticed that the prices being paid on eBay for many items
has taken a significant plunge of late?
I reckon that it's now easier for potential buyers to find those previously
considered 'hard to find' items, and consequently they are unwilling to pay
Accupaint - mixing with other brands09 Aug 2006 04:00 GMT1
Are there any other brands of paints / thinners that I can mix with
accupaint? I have some accupaint and one pint of the thinner. Considering
how hard it is to get both the paint and the thinner, I wanted to be able to
use up the last of my supply before I 'retire' that paint ...

How do I get hold of and fit replacement footsteps for my class 50?  I'm
afraid I had a little accident and knocked one of them off.
Cheers,

Difference between BB & MN07 Aug 2006 22:30 GMT1
Battle of Britain and Merchant Navy that is . . .
I know the MN is supposed to be about two feet longer than the lightweight
Bulleids, but where does the difference occur? E.g. in the boiler length,
firebox, etc?
MTH entry into HO07 Aug 2006 21:21 GMT18
MTH recently started delivering their H0 K4 equipped with smoke and DCS.
Some comments on tinplate newsgroups indicate this model may not be well
received by H0 modelers, perhaps, because DCC is so established in H0 that
few are interested in a newer, non-compatible DCS system.
