Gradient for coaling stage31 Oct 2006 21:32 GMT6
Can anyone help?
What would be the typical and maximum gradients to get coal wagons up
to a coaling stage?
Would the site be designed so the loco track had a down grade to reduce

Ballasting of Carriages.31 Oct 2006 03:11 GMT8
Owing  to my limited spase (7M x 4M)  I find that point work is often
approached by a downhill bends and that cross overs need medium length
peco points.  This coupled with protected sections which, in extremis,
cause an abrupt halt  have caused many over-run type derailments.

Help Needed Repairing Old Marklin HO Locomotive30 Oct 2006 15:19 GMT3
I am trying to clean an old Marklin DB streamline 4-6-2. The loco has a lift
up side plate that reveals what I assume are brush caps. I need to somehow
remove these brush caps which are slotted to remove the chassis from the
loco.
auto reverse loop using AD52030 Oct 2006 13:26 GMT8
My son wants to run his trolley back and forth on a single track.  The
model dealer here said the AD520 would work even though he has only a
standard DC track with the standard control box that comes with
"simple" train sets.

Anyone know of a locally available glass bottle or jar with a metal
screw on lid that has the same thread size as the Paasche H-1-OZ or
H-3-OZ cover assemblies?
I'd like to be able to get 5 or 6 jars about 2-oz 60ml size.
Downtown Deco site updated. New HO kits!30 Oct 2006 05:14 GMT10
I finally got the time to forward the new photos & news to our
webmaster (Thanks Geren!) so you can check out what's new. If you like
funky, run down structures I think you'll like the new kits. I
especially like the "ghost" building seen on the side of DD1032. The

Prototype Question - Steam Roof Color29 Oct 2006 19:47 GMT1
All,  I note that many of my model steam locos have oxide red roofs
over the cab and a couple have the same color on the tender deck.
While the boiler is black (or green - Southern) and the smoke boxes
silver or graphited. Is the oxide red cab roof representative of real
Clubs in the state of Washington29 Oct 2006 16:29 GMT3
I will be moving to Issaquah, Washington. That is about 20 miles from
Seattle. Are there any clubs within an hours drive? Any web sites would be
appreciated as well.

Sound Survey29 Oct 2006 14:53 GMT33
Ok, I admit it right off - I'm an old analog DC block control curmudgeon.
Over the last few years I have acquired a couple Broadway Limited models of
long desired steam prototypes, and I admit to being impressed with the DC
analog mode sound and I am guilty of showing it off to ...
