Haunted railroad?14 Oct 2006 22:49 GMT7
I am looking for ideas for a layout featuring "haunted" themes. Google
didn't turn up much. Like to have at least one haunted house. Ideas for
"spooky" accessories and the appropriate loco and cars, too. Maybe someone
has old Halloween themed articles from a MR mag? Let me know. ...

Opening boxes I put away over 20 years ago I have a number of Airfix
LMS corridor and non corridor coaches.
Are these same coaches still available from Hornby or Bachmann?

Collectors club 9F12 Oct 2006 21:35 GMT12
From Mr Lovetts message to Pat Hammonds site it would appear that when you
have purchased a model from the collectors club you must behave in a
'responsible way' and not sell it immediately.
Strange, I thought once you had purchased such an item then you were free to
Renewed my NMRA membership12 Oct 2006 03:34 GMT2
I was one (of many, I'm sure) who renewed for five years right before the
big dues increase in 2001.  I just got me renewal notice... ouch!  It will
cost me nearly as much for the next two years as the past five years did.

When replacing wheels and trucks on my HO freight cars, how do I determine
if I need to order 33 or 36 inch scale wheels?
Thanks.

photos of terrace backs? + ScaleScenes kits.12 Oct 2006 02:03 GMT1
I've been looking for some photos (or a suitable location to take photos) to
use as a back scene on an area of the layout where I don't have enough depth
to put even half-relief buildings. So far I've found nothing. Ideally, I
want a dozen or more terraced house backs which I can ...
HO Containers from Athearn, Walthers, Intermountain?11 Oct 2006 23:02 GMT3
Has anyone here mixed HO Containers made by the various model
manufactures, mainly Athearn, Walthers and Intermountain?  Will
Intermountain 48" containers fit in Athearn stack and attached other
brand name containers?
Heki static grass11 Oct 2006 22:36 GMT3
Does anyone know where I can buy Heki static grass (the sort
you 'puff' from a plastic bottle) online? I've been
searching high and low but can't seem to find anywhere that
sells it. I did manage to get hold of some of the Noch
Bending Masonite Backdrops Revisited11 Oct 2006 17:37 GMT1
I've been collecting a long time and am now working on my first layout
with my grandson.  It is a two foot shelf (wider in some spots) that
goes around the room.  Most of the track work is finished and it is
made to be mechanically and electrically broken down into four shelf
GP wheel diameters11 Oct 2006 15:07 GMT2
I'm planning to convert all my diesels' wheels to NWSL 0.088" treads.
What's the prototype diameter of GP-30 wheels?  The NWSL catalog lists
prototype diameters of 40" and 42" for half-axle wheelsets to fit P2K,
but isn't specific as to model.
Hornby DCC in December eh?11 Oct 2006 10:05 GMT30
Hmmm,  suspect they have left it too late and may end up just trading on
name! Bachmann seem to becoming up on the outside very strongly wuth a new
system due in January.
Converting Athearn Rubber-band drives11 Oct 2006 04:21 GMT12
I have an Athearn RDC-1 which has the old-style rubber-band drive. I bought
a plain bag of rubber bands, and found some which work, although there are
some tensioning issues. I am wondering, is there a source of the correct
sized OEM bands, or is there a conversion method to ...

I see from Hatton's that the new Hornby Britannia is in stock. Has anyone
seen one and formed any views on it yet?
