Realism versus aesthetics28 Nov 2006 15:45 GMT7
I'm building a 5 stall Roundhouse for my grandsons HO layout. I decided
to paint the exterior walls gray and   pencil in the cement blocks.
I've done the cement blocks on a test piece covering it with varnish
and it looks pretty realistic.
web-site up-date28 Nov 2006 05:18 GMT2
Details are add to the G&D Engine Service module. A fire box cleaning tool
rack was built from a picture on ebay. In the background is the 2 stall
engine house that was scratch built for a FSM color ad for the cost of
$5.00. I find it crazy to see bidding a couple hundred bucks for ...

Odd Gauge27 Nov 2006 22:29 GMT8
I was at a Toy Collectors Fair at Kempton Park yesterday and came across a
little die-cast station and booking office.   Underneath it was marked as
Gauge 000.    It was fairly small and I am assuming that 000 is now either
TT or N.   Can anyone satisfy my curiosity please?

Please could anyone offer some simple guidance on LMS loco liveries during
the 1930's - for example: what carried black and what carried red?
Thanks,
Roger

Australia Sugar Cane Ry Help27 Nov 2006 06:58 GMT1
I just returned from my first trip down-under - a two week cruise with an
extra week of touring.  Part of a tour out of Cairns was a late evening trip
to a zoo near Palm Cove.  About halfway between Cairns and Palm Cove, the
bus crossed several recent and serviceable grade ...
Porter Steam Locomotives26 Nov 2006 17:33 GMT7
I'm trying to track down a Porter 0-4-0T engine (builders #2884) made
in the very early 1900's for a coal mining company in Colorado.  Or, if
not that engine, a sister unit of the same design. does anyone have any
information on it?  Thanks in advance.

Can someone please tell me what the hell this caption is on about? The
wooden ramp in the background is a passenger entrance. It connects the
Warwick Road at high level to the right to the down platform left. There is
Help finding information on Fort Street Union Station, Detroit26 Nov 2006 04:31 GMT2
I am trying to find information on the Fort Street Union Depot that
used to be in Detroit for a layout being constructed for the time period
of the 1950's.  Plenty of information and pictures for the Michigan
Central Depot but having a hard time finding information to model ...
