Static rapid transit cars14 Nov 2006 18:06 GMT2
Can anyone suggest a source for static Rapid Transit cars? PCC or
other trolley cars would be acceptable as would powered units if the
price was right.

Holt Model Railways13 Nov 2006 08:59 GMT3
I've just noticed from their advert in the December (published early
November) Model Rail that Holt Model Railways take very long holidays.
Apparently they are "closed until August 12th for annual holidays".
I wish I could get a job that offered 9 month holidays!

Ballast12 Nov 2006 22:37 GMT5
Trying to figure out how to lay the ballast. (HO) Years ago when I did a N scale
layout I used a water/white glue mix and poured the ballast out on the track
then with an eye-dropper put on the glue. I was wondering if there is a better
way and how other people do it?

I recently completed my scale model of the Dos Cabesas water tower for
my garden railroad. Here are the pics, beginning with a shot of the

Great Expectations12 Nov 2006 06:05 GMT5
Hello everyone. Some may remember me from earlier this year with plans
to build an On30 Halloween layout. Time nor budget in general
cooperated, not to mention lots of work on the house this year. I still
have been picking up bits and pieces and working on ideas, and still

Best 4mm 08?11 Nov 2006 22:22 GMT34
Ok, out of touch a bit, both the Bachnamm and Hornby 08's have been
out for some time now, what is the best, scale wise as well as slow
running etc. What issues do each have, is one mechanically better,
presumably both will be much the same to convert to 18.83 gauge and
N gauge Fleischmann11 Nov 2006 22:11 GMT5
I have heaps of locos, rolling stock, track, points, motors, scenery etc
from an N layout that filled a table tennis table.
Has been stored in boxes for some years.
Anyone looking for stuff like this?
New DCC Programmer11 Nov 2006 18:06 GMT6
I have an old Digitrax PR-1 programming system installed on my even older
Windows 95 computer (which I keep only to run PR-1).  Now either the system
or the computer has failed and I would like to update the programming
system.  What is a good low-cost replacement for the PR-1?
