Ransomes & Rapier turntable; help required pls!06 Nov 2006 09:21 GMT2
Hello, I'm new here. I live in SW England, and up to now have built
model aircraft and military stuff. Now I fancy a go at scratch building
a Gauge 1 turntable something like the R&R prototypes.
Two questions crop up immediately;
Problem with 0-27 tubular switches05 Nov 2006 22:59 GMT1
I recently bought some new Lionel 0-27 remote switches.  I am having a
problem when the train runs thru the switch about - 1/3 of the time it will
go into neutral.  Speed does not seem to have a bearing - it happens at all
speeds. All the wiring connections are tight, insulator ...
MAINLINE Scrap locos.05 Nov 2006 16:13 GMT3
If there are any owners of scrap mainline model locos (UK outline) who
would like to dispose of them I would be very pleased to acquire them
- for a suitable price. This is to attempt a prolongement of life for
some of mine.  All emails will be answered.
Ceiling tile for rock strata04 Nov 2006 00:53 GMT2
A while ago, I believe that someone asked which kind of ceiling tile worked
well to depict rock strata.  I've seen ct used for this, but I was curious
about what kind to use as well.  Now that I'm in need of a rock face after a
mountain cut is complete, I'd like to add my ...

Layout ideas - nscale03 Nov 2006 07:17 GMT8
I'm planning to build an n-scale layout.  It is to be Santa Fe
transition era set in New Mexico or Arizona.  I primarily have
passenger trains with cars up to 85 feet, and would like to operate
long trains, probably two at a time with continuous loops.

BACHMANN Spares02 Nov 2006 08:19 GMT4
Are there ANY dealers out there who actually stock Bachmann spares?
CP Rail 3 unit well car drawings02 Nov 2006 06:57 GMT7
Hey everybody. I just discovered CutePDF so I can upload my cad drawings in
pdf form to my web site. They're nice and clean. Eventually I'd like to put
all my drawings up there. I'll start with the CP Rail well cars...

Re:Printing slide-off decals02 Nov 2006 05:21 GMT1
I have been using papers from both Metal Foil Co. Bare-Metal.com and Super
Cal by Micro Format, Inc. paper-paper.com
Both offer clear and white and both have worked very well. I work in O gauge
and have made both large graphics and fine print decals successfully.
2 Questions - Dapol and Radii02 Nov 2006 01:25 GMT9
I am setting up an N gauge system and have a couple of questions that I am
hoping some kind soul can advise me on.   First, I have seen some Dapol
locos that I rather like and my question is: are the Dapol trains compatible
with those from Graham Farrish (i.e. couplings)?
South Bend and Studebaker02 Nov 2006 01:07 GMT2
I'm making plans for a N-scale layout, starting with some research. Middle
point of my layout will be Chicago or just outside. To the west Santa Fe and
probably a branch line. To the East while researching I encountered Tom
Kepshires site http://www.monon.monon.org/ and found his ...
Ratio Boiler House01 Nov 2006 23:31 GMT1
I thought I saw a boilerhouse/pumphouse kit by Ratio other than the
508, this one had a brick built chimney, I think the chimney was also
available as a separate item too, but can't seem to find it online
anywhere.
Hornby class 6701 Nov 2006 13:53 GMT5
I saw a Hornby class 67 in my local model shop's window today (a royal
maroon liveried one, for what it's worth).  It was slightly too high to
see clearly: does it still have rubbish Lima wheels with gigantic
flanges, or something a little less ridiculous?
Ideal Christmas first trainset for a 5 year old?01 Nov 2006 12:22 GMT33
I'm a bit out of the loop in the model railway world (boxes of N guage kit in
the loft for the last 8 years waiting space/excuse to play) but my 5 year old
son has decided he wants a real trainset for Christmas this year. Tempted as
I am to dig out the Farish from the loft I think ...
