| Suspended benchwork q's | 29 Dec 2006 23:52 GMT | 13 |
As I start to build my layout in earnest this time, I've been looking through many of my old _model railroader_ magazines and on the net, and found many different ways to build benchwork. My layout will be in a basement, the space I have available is 14" x 32", but I have to share ...

| (Not So) Smokey Joe | 29 Dec 2006 23:10 GMT | 11 |
Does anyone know when Hornby stopped fitting the smoke generator to this loco? I got one for christmas and am a bit miffed to see that it dosent have this feature anymore - or is my memory from childhood viewing of Hornby catalogues not what it was?

On the bottom of our Lionel PRR K4 are two screws with the label "GREASE" next to them. How exactly do we do this? The manual gives no clue. Do we completely remove the screws and put grease in the holes, or do we partially unscrew

For those of you who sit home and wish they had a layout so they could run with the train, have a look at this, www.trainplayer.com. I downloaded the demo, and though it was great fun, then paid only 29.95 for the whole program, it was great and they supply you 101 Linn Wescott ...

| Hornby Flying Scotsman Trailing Bogie Stuck? | 29 Dec 2006 14:02 GMT | 5 |
I've just acquired a new Hornby Flying Scotsman (one of the modern super-detailed ones). I have a problem in that the trailing bogie (under the cab) seems to be wedged into the chassis. On the track it is suspended slightly above the track and has no movement up/down nor

| Radii of Peco Streamline Code 75 curved points | 29 Dec 2006 13:28 GMT | 21 |
As I think I may have mentioned here before, I am designing a layout for a friend based on the S&DJR from the 1950 - 1960 period, using as a basis a plan that was in the Toddler from the early 1990's. The layout is being designed on a now-out-of-date CAD program called

| Completely OT request please | 29 Dec 2006 02:08 GMT | 8 |
Hi - uncertain if anyone here can help but I am trying to locate a company that finds replacement Chinaware/porcelain that's long out of production. Just thought my fellow lovers-of-things-aged here, may know of a firm or two.

| Been rooting through the loft! | 28 Dec 2006 19:09 GMT | 10 |
And found some Hornby stuff which has never been out of the boxes. As it is unlikely I shall now try to develop a layout, I'm looking to sell some of it, how can I find out it's value? Alan in Windsor

| Hornby Turntable | 28 Dec 2006 14:11 GMT | 1 |
I have a Hornby turntable which works fine but it is a bit annoying having it stop at every exit when I only have two of the exit roads connected for use. Is there any way in which I can permanently "disable" those exits which I do

| Williams Golden Memories Series - opinions please!! | 28 Dec 2006 03:29 GMT | 2 |
Was thinking of adding a Santa Fe F3 to my collection - the red and silver one. Rather than buy an old Lionel one, what do you think about buying a Williams instead? I am not a collector but an operator. I have seen the quality of a steam, so I am impressed so far. I think

| Code 75 and 83 | 26 Dec 2006 23:58 GMT | 2 |
Before I head on out to the model store, here in Atlanta USA, I need to know how well code 83 US track would match up to the SMP Code 75 track (The code 83 would be used in Fiddle yard, I already have code 75 Peco turnouts) as its expensive to order code 75 from UK and no one ...
