Bachman Class 5526 Dec 2006 23:03 GMT2
I just got a Bachman Class 55 Deltic, and I thought I'd share my thoughts.
A heavy model, it runs very well, even on radius 2. However, I have a few
gripes.
1. The weathering appears to be arse about- the trailing end of the loco is
DCC idea for "power independence"26 Dec 2006 18:14 GMT22
Reading a thread here about the problems of powering locos across dead
sections of track gives me an idea. I may not be the first person to
have come up with this, so let me know if you've heard this before. It
also may be impractical for several reasons, discussed below, but I

Metal freight ladders in HO scale26 Dec 2006 02:35 GMT8
Was looking for metal ladders to replace the plastic ones on my
already-built freight car fleet and to also put on the cars I haven't built.
I'm talking mostly box cars and reefers when they still had full height
ladders and roofwalks. Grabs aren't a problem - can get plenty of ...
Thomas the Tank Engine Water Tower Steam Set - No Smoke26 Dec 2006 02:26 GMT1
We just bought a Thomas the Tank Engine Water Tower Steam Set.  The
train runs great, but Thomas doesn't blow smoke.  There's no battery in
Thomas, so I'm wondering what makes it work.  The filter is in properly
and there's plenty of water in Thomas.  Has anyone else had this

Another One Bites The Dust25 Dec 2006 19:13 GMT6

I have a few prewar tenders that need to be fixed. They are 2224W,
2235W types. The problem is that when I push down on the "whistle"
button on the transformer, there is one spot the button works the
whistle. But, if I continue to push the button down the whistle stops

lettering an lining pens - recommendations?24 Dec 2006 16:52 GMT13
Some years ago I experimented with pen and ink for lettering models. Nevery
a great success but some pens worked quite well whilst others did not. I was
advised by the shop to use dipping pens rather than rotring types (from my
time at sea I know the latter can require a lot of ...
LMS in 7 mm scale24 Dec 2006 10:09 GMT5
I am seriously contemplating a return to my first love, the LMS, after
40 years of modelling other countries railways, but this time in 7 mm
scale. I have, as you might gather, quite a lot to catch up on - for
example,  I only found out about David Jenkinson's passing a few months

The single end 930 will be a limited production, so early ordering is
advisable.
