No smoke from Lionel PRR K4 (#6-38025)23 Dec 2006 01:44 GMT1
We just bought a PRR K4, from Lionel's 2002 catalog in brand
new condition (the box had never been opened before).  When
we first ran it and turned on the smoke generator, a little came out,
which we thought was remarkable considering it had been sitting

Where is my horn?22 Dec 2006 17:07 GMT2
My Dad just gave me a 1958/1959 Lionel trainset that his Dad purchased
for him when he was a kid. We last had it under our tree in 1995, and
now its time for my kids to enjoy it. Though I think I am enjoying it
more than they are at this point. :)

Got a question on your layout, and maybe it's just unfamiliarity with
wiring, polarity, etc. but don't you have the possibility of coming
KW overload lamp - bulb number?22 Dec 2006 04:49 GMT5
Can anyone tell me what bulb number to use in a KW transformer.  It is
probably the same as used for the red lamp on the ZW model.  Just about
to turn the kids loose with my 54 year old set... everything is working
including the circuit breaker but the overload bulb is missing :( .

Trainorama 44's and sound21 Dec 2006 05:04 GMT2
I don't have any of Trainorama's 44's, but do they have a DCC decoder with
sound or is there a provision for one? I guess that a US sound decoder for
something like a PA-1 is going to be fairly close to a Mk-1 44 class sound
decoder if you turn off all the US-specific functions.
Track layout evaluation?21 Dec 2006 04:04 GMT7
Hey all-
Playing around with RTS 7.0, and came up with a kind of basic layout
for an N scale railroad.
>From a complete n00b status, its a kind of "fantasy" layout. Large
O scale and N scale Club in The Raleigh (Triangle) area in NC ?21 Dec 2006 00:10 GMT3
I am trying to locate an O scale club with a layout in the RALEIGH
area, in North Carolina.
A few years ago, the Neuse Valley Railroad Club (or something similar)
was operating a small layout in malls during the Christmas time and
O scale 2 rails Cab Forward (AC-10/12) information needed.20 Dec 2006 22:01 GMT1
I was wondering if someone could post a summary of the manufacturers
who have produced the AC-10 or 12 Cab Forward in O scale 2 rails, in
brass. I have been searching the market for such model for a while, but
was not too lucky.
