Model Railroader web site problem19 Dec 2006 00:46 GMT2
Went to login to the Model Railroader website just now (Sunday 2:40 PM
eastern) to check out the forums. Problem is, I can't login. What happens is
the page to login comes up, but the place to enter my user name and such is
totally blank. I've emptied my browser cache, reloaded the ...
loco directional lighting18 Dec 2006 21:56 GMT6
I've managed to get some tiny red and amber bicolour LEDs with the
intention of fitting to my Hymek (amongst other things).
The only doubt I have is how to arrange the lights - is it two red at
the rear, 2 amber at the front? Or red on one side, amber on the other?

Coupler Q's16 Dec 2006 18:24 GMT3
I recently got back into the hobby but am still a newbe and don't know
very much. All my old locos and rolling stock have standard Rapido
couplers. Last week I went to the Reading Pa.  train show and bought
some coal cars that matched some of my old road names. Not being very
Hornby DCC and PC Interface15 Dec 2006 00:06 GMT12
I am brand new to railroad modelling.
I am looking for a system to control a model railroad from my own PC
and write my own software to do this (say in C#).
The safe route I have found at the moment is the LENZ Set 90 a TR150
DCC basics14 Dec 2006 23:19 GMT7
PEr a prior reply I gave to another newbie, I am now wondering if my
advice to him was correct.  With most DCC controllers, can you run one
engine without a DCC decoder?
Flex track question, incline questions14 Dec 2006 19:59 GMT1
Went to the store yesterday, and got a book on basic wiring. I won't
need it for the near future, but a few months.
Anyway, I also got some flex track to do the train around the tree gig,
and I also went to Atlas' website and downloaded their track planner
Bachmann Super Voyager Tilting Train14 Dec 2006 16:25 GMT4
Just picked up one of these for my son's Christmas present.
Has anyone else had issues with the thing derailing with monotonous
regularity?  The power car seems to cock a wheel when running in one
direction when entering a curve (second radius Hornby).  Track is well laid
Block insulation question14 Dec 2006 15:49 GMT10
I'm putting together a little DC HO layout for the 1st time in decades,
and to create blocks, is it better to use the insulated nylon rail joiners,
or to use the normal metal ones, then slice the rail where I want and glue
in some thin styrene as I've read that others do?
