Kato N-gauge class 6609 Dec 2006 11:03 GMT16
I don't know if this has been reported elsewhere yet, but a Japanese model
news site today mentions in passing that Kato plans to produce an N-gauge
model of the EMD class 66 in five versions. No details as to when or what
liveries, but there is a preview photo of one (in HGK ...
Beginner questions, Life-Like SD709 Dec 2006 06:37 GMT7
Hi, it's been almost a year since I first asked here about getting
started in N scale.   I finally decided to do something and have
acquired my first starter set.  I am on a budget but I managed to get
started for $60 total which I think is pretty darn good.
Turnout indicator for Peco manual turnout09 Dec 2006 00:00 GMT1
I have a bunch of Peco manual turnouts (insulfrogs). There are a few of
them where it would be convenient to have some sort of turnout
indicator (red and green lighted dwarf signal etc.) to show which way
the switch was set.

I agree with you Brock R Bailey, i hope they can stop that M15 stuff. and a
lot of other crap that comes on there which has nothing to do with trains.
Bachmann 108 DCC-Ready?07 Dec 2006 22:23 GMT4
The only Bachmann DMU I have is a 158 which was not DCC ready, so I have had
to run wires for the lights between the carriages. How have Bachmann
overcome this problem in their DCC-ready DMUs such as the new 108 ? In other
words, how are the lights in the non-powered unit driven? ...
New Heljan at Warley?06 Dec 2006 17:01 GMT27
According to a posting on the RMWeb forum, Heljan will be announcing a
Class 58 and a Class 17.
I have no inside knowledge on this, I am just forwarding something
posted elsewhere!
Seen on the WCML...06 Dec 2006 16:24 GMT10
Demonstrating my usual ignorance of such matters, what please is a
"CARWAGGON"? I've heard of a "cargowaggon" but that's not what it said on
the sides. It was a long train and all the wagons had the same spelling. Is
it just a "cargowaggon" with two letters missing or something that ...
Roche drawing info request06 Dec 2006 07:52 GMT18
I found some notes in an old note book relating to an LMS 6 wheeled
furniture van truck, based I believe on one of the Roche drawings. My notes
suggest a wheelbase of approx 16 feet with a body about 15 feet over
headstocks.
Your 'Toy Fair' wish list...06 Dec 2006 00:22 GMT37
Me, either a LNER L1 and / or more SR EMU stock (on top of that
already promised by Bachmann). Also for the Hornby (international) ex
Jouef SNCF range to be stocked by more retailers!
Wiring diagram for Lionel 385 engine05 Dec 2006 23:21 GMT1
I need the wiring diagram for a Lionel, 385 Locomotive, Standard Gauge.  I
would be obliged if soneone would email me one, or let me know where I can
obtain one.
As you all probably know, the engine has a "chugger" and a reversing switch.
O-Guage Track Layout Template with FasTrack (Lionel)05 Dec 2006 16:57 GMT2
I am looking to see if I can find a track layout template that has
FasTrack curves.  The template I have is excellent, but it has standard
O-Guage curve radius levels (030, 042, 054, etc.) and not the newer
FasTrack radius levels (036, 048, 060, etc.).  Any ideas where I might
I can't help but smile ...05 Dec 2006 16:15 GMT55
... as I've been following the "Hornby Elite DCC - some comments thread"
with some interest.
I can't help but remark that all I have to do is flick a switch to make
whatever section iof track I choose to make it live and then turn a little
Need Simple HO Gauge Track to Put Around Christmas Tree05 Dec 2006 15:33 GMT6
I wondered if members might have suggestions for this.  I have, in a
box in basement, a very old HO gauge train set, several engines, lots
of general stuff, transformer, very old track (sections and flex) that
is about 30 years old.  Should be in great conditoin though.
