4mm. Scale 9F Double Chimney31 Jan 2007 13:48 GMT3
Can anyone suggest a source for a 4mm. scale double chimney for a BR
9F, preferably in brass?
I've tried the obvious sources such as Mainly Trains, Comet, Markits,
etc. and have an enquiry pending at DJH.
Carriage lights31 Jan 2007 09:49 GMT1
I have recently come by a Hornby carriage, blue and grey, similar to
the 125 Intercity ones but not actually marked Intercity. It has
lights fitted to it (looks original) with the wiring connected to the
two hollow rivets that hold the bogies on. There is no connection from
Peco point motors - not working, please help31 Jan 2007 05:52 GMT2
I've just finished adding a staging yard to my N scale layout using Peco
points and point motors (part no. PL-10E).  When I tested the point motors in
situ with an old powerpack, they weren't able to change the points.  They just
moved a slight bit then fell back to their original ...
Want to buy steam and diesel locomotives31 Jan 2007 01:26 GMT1
I would like to buy a Precision Craft N-scale Steam Locomotive 4-8-4 with
CB&Q markings (if they were ever made). I want DCC and sound. Used or new. I
sent an email to the company but no response.
Also I want a EMD E7 diesel engine in N-scale by Precision Craft. with CB&Q
Farish (Poole) DMU Problems31 Jan 2007 00:51 GMT12
Help for a newbie please.
I've just purchased a second hand Farish (Poole) DMU.  It was advertised as
working, however, whilst the motor turns, nothing happens at the bogies
aside from a bit of a grinding noise; i.e. no movement forwards or
minimum roof height to build a model railroad?30 Jan 2007 22:33 GMT12
i don't have room for my future railroad model in my basement, then i
was thinking about building it at the top of my house, just under the
roof. i have a 5x8 meters (16'8"x26'8") unused area just under the
house roof. the roof isn't flat, however; it is about 2 meters (6'8")
Scratchbuilding in 2mm30 Jan 2007 19:23 GMT2
Although I've been a scratchbuilder for many years, I'm fairly new to
'N' / 2mm scale.
Does anybody have a reliable and consistent method for simulating
rivet heads in 2mm scale?

Anyone know a source for Ian Kirk Gresley coach bogies and Ratio Midland

Thanx in advance

GWR 0-4-2 kit identification30 Jan 2007 13:17 GMT5
I was at Southampton MRC yesterday and there was a model of a "cute" GWR
0-4-2 tank engine and i couldn't get an identification.
The layout was designed to run Pregrouping and, IIRC, was a seaside terminal
and,  looking at the list on their website, was probably Westcliff.
Hornby Eurostar overheating30 Jan 2007 10:30 GMT32
I bought my son the Hornby Eurostar set (2 ends (one being the engine)
with 2 carriages). I use the standard Hornby conrtoller that came with
the set.
If I run the engine by itself, it seems quiet happy and runs without
Erith Model Railway Show in Dartford30 Jan 2007 08:41 GMT2
Hi all, I went to the Erith show today and thought it was excellent.
It had a good variety of layouts from a massive modular N Gauge layout
to a tine boxfile layout in OO.
It stretches through a school from one hall to the next and has plenty
Coupling N gauge MicroTrains29 Jan 2007 18:07 GMT2
I have seen couplings on N gauge US  locos that are similar to the Kade
style.
Has anyone fitted this style known as micro train couplings to Graham Farish
stock.
NMRA member useful?29 Jan 2007 17:18 GMT6
Would becoming a member of NMRA be useful for someone not living in the US
( missing conventions and such )? Or would it be worth the membership to
have access to the online Library , I'm having a hard time finding
trackdiagrams and maps with enough detail, would they have that?
final decision: i'll go for railroad modeling :)29 Jan 2007 16:12 GMT4
as, i think, many newbie modelers i'm trying to decide the scale. i'd
prefer to go with n models because of the usual reasons; however i was
able to find just a couple of catalogues of models in n scale and,
which is the real problem, almost nothing regarding accessories:
Bachmann Web site29 Jan 2007 11:37 GMT5
Does anybody know what's going wrong with the Bachmann web site?
I tried to register for details of Dynamis and got an error mnessage.
Then, when I tried to call up the page for reporting errors and
commenting on their web site, nothing happened.
