| Casting question | 29 Jan 2007 06:34 GMT | 22 |
No, it's got nothing to do with American Idol or Broadway. I've googled and looked at bunches of sites without finding what I'm looking for, so I'm throwing myself on the mercy of the court of Usenet (in other words, I'm desperate and am asking here as a last resort).

| Replacing Lenses in Marker Lights | 29 Jan 2007 05:05 GMT | 2 |
How hard is it to replace the lenses in a permanently installed Utah Pacific Adlake corner marker light? It looks like CA glue was used to attach them to the sides of the caboose. This is my first experience with them. I want to change yellow-green-yellow to red-green-green.

Has any one in the group had any expericences with this new model ??? I've seen one and the detail is just great as good / better than Brass. But I'm hearing that it's running qualities with a train behind it are not so good. I would appericate feed back on this and coments ...

| New Fotopic site - vintage railway images | 29 Jan 2007 01:23 GMT | 127 |
I've strongly resisted the temptation to set up a Fotopic site for some years, and have to say that I find repeated advertisements for them to be irritating, but last year I acquired a significant number of 1920s & 1930s monochrome negatives originating from the camera of the ...

| Help with Resistors ? | 28 Jan 2007 22:55 GMT | 28 |
I am trying to reduce the DC transformer 14v down to 3v. I went to Radio Shack and started looking at resistors. Found out very quickly I did not know what I was looking at. I would find something for example that read 470-OHM 1/2 watt 5% tolerance. Nothing about volts. So what ...

I'm trying to justify my green Class 20s on my Diesel / Steam transition Southern layout. Why would they be there, and what would they be pulling? Rob

Why would a Bachmann Jinty need a 21 pin decoder socket?

Group, Anyone have an update on the status of decal printing on home user printers? Specifically for printing gold, silver, white letters, etc. Previously, the only option was some out of production ALPS printers,

| Set Up a Yahoo Group... | 28 Jan 2007 07:01 GMT | 16 |
I'm a recent denizen on this group the past year and have been grateful for the information I've received from a number of folks on a few posts I've made in that time. However, I see there's a lot of flame wars started (in particular, the verbal attacks by one particular person) ...

| Kato locomotive repairs - where? | 28 Jan 2007 01:17 GMT | 9 |
When it happened you might have been able to hear a pin drop, but all I could hear was my Kato SD-40 falling off my layout and hit the floor! I couldn't even hear my heart beating, it had stopped!

| Cast coach bogies | 27 Jan 2007 20:08 GMT | 4 |
Good morning. I have a pair of cast coach bogies - they are one piece castings, and would appreciate any advice regarding drilling holes for fitting wheel sets. I cannot hold the drill vertically, because the other side of the bogie is in the way. I suppose the only option is ...

| [proto] sleeper dersignations | 27 Jan 2007 16:04 GMT | 20 |
I often see sleeper cars often described as "8-1-2" or " 10-1-2" or "12-1" or other such numerical designations. Not being a passenger car modeler, I've never looked into detail on what these numbers meant... is there an easy description for us non-passenger types to understand ...

| New Bachmann | 27 Jan 2007 15:07 GMT | 31 |
No sooner than JT mentioned them, then the proposed Bachmann releases for 2007 appeared on their web-site. Too many to list here, but a few interesting wagons such as BDA and VDA, along with BR standard 12t vans make an appearance. Those who hanker after steam locos may be ...
