Battery Operated Project?27 Jan 2007 05:48 GMT10
Awhile back I made a toy train layout for my nieces out of a modified, 3
dollar, toy train set. It was fun (some may remember the pictures links
I posted), but limited in size and the one thing I didn't like was that
the factory set speed of the Engine was too fast. It's not flying ...

SuperNEO magnets25 Jan 2007 14:40 GMT2
Got an old Triang Western Pullman that I have upgraded the motor
magnet to a super NEO one and it runs like a DOG!
Runs really badly and low revs and really judders and labours at high
speeds.
Lionel ZW Transformer Whistle Switch25 Jan 2007 14:32 GMT16
I tried a Lionel ZW transformer with two 180 watt power packs. The
indicator switch on the first power pack is dead. But it does provide
power, as does the other one on which the power indicator works correctly.

This is a matter of opinion, of course, but what is the general take on the
quality of the various manufactures of HO scale locos and rolling stock?
I'm not even aware of many of the vendors. Bachmann, Athearn, Model Power,
Life-Like. None other come to mind at the moment. But I ...
