MR Photo Contest17 Jan 2007 01:59 GMT5
Does MR still do the annual photo contest? I don't subscribe anymore, I
remember looking forward to that issue, but then I also remember being
disappointed more often than not..
just curious
Couplings16 Jan 2007 22:33 GMT18
I am just starting in railways (n gauge) and am confused about couplings.
I have seen people refer to different types, most commonly Tension Lock.
Is this the type that I have on my Graham Farish rolling stock?
I have also noticed reference to magnetic de-couplers, do these refer ...
Feedback Controllers16 Jan 2007 21:40 GMT7
Running US HO in the UK means it's easier to use controllers available
over here. I've been using hand held feedback controllers for some
years, the first one by Gaugemaster, the later one by Kent Panel
Controls.
HOn30 and HOn3 items for auction16 Jan 2007 21:19 GMT2
Hi! Back in the 80's I was planning an HOn30 layout. Due to a remodel,
the layout had to be torn out before it was finished, and all my HOn30
stuff has been stored ever since. I'm now trying to sell some of it on
ebay. I currently have the following items up for sale:
Bachmann 08 - Coupling Rods.16 Jan 2007 19:53 GMT4
This is a question about the past.
When the Bachmann 08 was first released there was an issue with the coupling
rods being on the wrong way round.  At teh time a fix was posted in various
places (including here I seem to remember).
Hornby Rebuilt WCs/BBs and that darned fixed pony truck16 Jan 2007 19:30 GMT21
Evenin' all.
Just wanted to know what the general feeling is re Hornby's implementation
of the fixed pony truck on the new rebuilt WC/BB. I can't stand it, but I
don't know what the general opinion of the rest of the modelling fraternity
O Scale Grade Question16 Jan 2007 15:32 GMT1
I currently have a RailKing train with about 4-5 cars going around the room
by the ceiling on a shelf.  I want to bring it down to a large table in the
other room and put a more elaborate layout.  My question is what is the
safest grade but highest possible that I can use to go ...
'Inherited' a train16 Jan 2007 11:43 GMT13
My mother-in-law recently gave us a model train set she had in the
attic.  It used to be a cousin's or something - I forget, and you don't
care - but now it is ours.  I've never owned one of these, but I'm
getting interested.
3801 Ltd?16 Jan 2007 11:34 GMT18
got my newsletter, and says  "the loss of"... what happened to the
great loco?
After a period of uncertainty, and despite the loss of steam
locomotive 3801, 3801 Limited is pleased to announce that tours will
Programming DCC engine problem15 Jan 2007 17:16 GMT2
I bought an Walthers engine from a swap meet that had a dcc card and
sound added to a non DCC ready engine.
I have an Atlas Commander DCC system and I'm running a DCC engine
without any problems.
Help With a 1961 Lionel Super Chief Set15 Jan 2007 15:33 GMT3
Hi,  please excuse the interruption and simplistic questions to your
news group.
I am looking for some guidance on valuing and selling a 1961 or 62
Lionel Super Chief passenger set.  This was owned by my dad as part of
Peco points and Triang-Hornby locos15 Jan 2007 11:08 GMT5
I'm about to build a OO layout (in a very confined space) after a gap of
nearly 20 years.  I kept all my old locos and want to run them on the new
layout.  The oldest are Triang-Hornby from the mid 70's, diesel dock
shunter/DMU etc..  I've heard that current code 100 Peco points ...
London Model Railway Shops15 Jan 2007 10:09 GMT15
Can anyone tell me if there are any model railway shops in central'ish
London with a reasonable display of locos etc.  There was one near
Euston, I recall, that specialised in continental railways.  The only one
I can think of for sure is Hamleys.
New to N15 Jan 2007 04:02 GMT29
Hi, after a few decades I am thinking about restarting railway
modelling, possibly in N.
I have been looking on the web (can't get to a model shop for several
weeks yet) at the Farish starter sets
HO Equivalent of Gargraves Track15 Jan 2007 01:08 GMT40
I haven't seen anything identical to Gargraves track in HO scale. In your
collective opinion, what would be the highest quality HO scale track?
I currently have an oval of Bachmann Easy Track - kind of like HO scale
FasTrack. K-Line also makes a similar track with a somewhat better ...
