Lima to Kadee's06 Feb 2007 02:37 GMT2
G'day guys.
Well, I've decided to tackle the job I have been putting off for about the
last 7 or 8 years and fit Kadee's to my Lima B and S class loco's.
Can someone tell me which Kadee's they have used and any other snippets of

Dust and Scale05 Feb 2007 19:10 GMT14
I had a good start on an N scale layout in my basement several years
ago, but I abandoned it because I finally decided it was too dusty
down there (see below).  I recently began to think that N guage tracks
are pretty small, I wonder if there would have been as much problem
Proto 2000 and White LED Headlights05 Feb 2007 03:55 GMT25
I'd like to put a White LED headlight in my FA1 Proto2000 locomotive.  The
circuit board provides 1.5 volts for a headlight, but the White LEDs I have
want 3 volts.
How can I go about doing this?  Are there reasonable sources for 1.5V White

Antimated Car Moving on Road04 Feb 2007 15:04 GMT19
I recently saw where someone had what looked like a clay road bed and
had a car moving on the road, traveling in a long oval.  Does anyone
have an idea of how this is done or what it requires?  I am building a
small town and this would be great.  Thanks for any and all input.  Dave
Model Railway Clubs04 Feb 2007 02:25 GMT1
I am considering moving from the NSW south coast to somewhere in the Hunter
region of NSW probably in the Dungog area.
Does anyone know of a model railway club in that area. I know there would be
clubs in Newcastle but I don't want to have to travel that far. Maybe there
Hornby 34045 Ottery St. Mary - a (mainly favourable) assessment03 Feb 2007 20:06 GMT6
I now have my 34045 Ottery St. Mary, (which will become 34042
Dorchester this weekend). In general, I'm very pleased with it.
The detail is incredible, running is superb, and the finish is
excellent. Placed next to unrebuilt 34041 Wilton it is very evident
DCC questions please03 Feb 2007 03:57 GMT5
OK, so I have made the decision to move into DCC. All my sidings and loops
are protected because my peco pointwork is all Insulfrog. Do I have to
rewire all the points, or can I simply run 2 more wires into each
siding/loop?
6 wh wagon - Not milk - Guinness!03 Feb 2007 03:40 GMT21
The six wheeler shown in Roche drawing G/114 for a 'modern carriage truck'
about which I asked a while back is (I believe) actually a BR built dia
1/332 wagon used to transport Guiness six wheeled road-rail tank trailers!
The wagon looks like an easy mod in N Gauge, and the trailer ...

Old railroad maps on-line02 Feb 2007 01:27 GMT2
I'm scanning my collection of old maps (late 1800s mostly) and putting
them on-line.
There are a lot of rail maps, some of which show good detail on
stations, rail yards, etc.
Laying OO Track01 Feb 2007 23:25 GMT47
I'm just starting out with this hobby and was experimenting with my first
few sections of track last night. I found that even with track in good
condition the joins caused a drastic current drop. I tried to solder
additional feeders to some sections but found that I was melting ...
