I don't know how many people here have reasonably large collections of
rolling stock, or whether they regularly take any items to model railway
clubs for running nights, or to exhibitions to run on other people's
layouts. One thing that has always bugged me is that I have never ...

Is this of interest to the group if I were to post this here each week ? (I
already distribute on behalf of the editor to a fair few recipients)

R&D Models in Cambridge31 Mar 2007 01:23 GMT14
I went past the shop this afternoon for the first time in ages and it
was shut at 5pm with a big sign in the window saying CLOSING DOWN SALE. Not
entirely unpredictable since Doug Bell seems to have run the shop on his own
for ages with quiet trade, but any modellers in the ...
Estate Evaluation31 Mar 2007 00:36 GMT7
You may remember my father, Brad Haugen, who used to post to this
newsgroup in the mid to late 90s.  He was an avid railfan and built many
setups for himself and for me. Unfortunately, my dad passed away in
January of 2007.  I would like to ask the members of this newgroup for
Steve Caple back, so is the spam.30 Mar 2007 01:34 GMT7
Notice he is back and the troll OT posts are way up too.  Now that he
is back his sockpuppet 'Brad' has disappeared too.  Now he needs to
work on his other identity Muslim Steve.  Still praying for you Steve.

My grandson has a Bachmann HO/OO "Gordan" and "Gordan's Express"
passenger cars, 3 coachs and a brake coach. He's allowed to run
them on my layout when he visits, but lately he's been asking to
put the cars behind the Walthers Trainline 'Southern' FA/FB set I
original lionel model 55 1936 airplane29 Mar 2007 19:05 GMT11
I was cleaning out an attic of an old house and found an ORIGINAL (not
the reproduction) 1936 Model 55 remote controlled airplane.  It is in
perfect working order, and overall in excellent condition.  The plane
will need some minor work done to it; best left to an experienced

Anyone having trouble with the axles falling out of the bogies ?
The bogie frames seem too wide for the pin point axles.

Help!
Does anyone know of a good photograph of a cab interior of the first
batch of the S&D 7F 2-8-0s, preferably taken in the 1920s? (not too
specific then???)  This is the right hand drive version - all the
Model railway retailing29 Mar 2007 10:02 GMT27
I'm trying to find out some information about various aspects of
retailing model railway equipment, so if anyone on here is a retailer
(or works for one) then I'd be very grateful if you could share your
knowledge!
Advice on benchwork28 Mar 2007 23:48 GMT5
Hi, I'd like to get some advice on how you would set up benchwork for
a 4x8 layout. Typically this would be very easy, but please see the
layout picture I've posted at:

Modeling a rock slide detector fence28 Mar 2007 03:25 GMT5
I'm looking for ideas for modeling a rock slide detection fence typical of
the late 1950s-1960s era.  I am familiar with the article "Build a
slide-detector fence to make your crews feel safer" in the April 1989 Model
Railroader magazine.
