| Diamond crossings and DCC | 17 Jul 2007 22:44 GMT | 2 |
As someone gearing towards converting my layout to DCC, I was running a simple figure of eight circuit using Bachmann's DCC-fitted Class 25 and an unfitted Bachmann Deltic using Bachmann's E-Z Command controller. The diamond I was using was a Fleischmann Profitrack wide angle ...

| Mainly Trains | 17 Jul 2007 19:01 GMT | 11 |
Noted from a previous thread that Mainly Trains have reduced their range. Is Dave Cleal still running it, if so just wondered if he is retiring. I remember him when he had his shop in Chandlers Ford, near Southampton in the 70s long before he moved away to Watchet. Very ...

| Best N scale cars for switching? | 15 Jul 2007 15:00 GMT | 28 |
Decided to return to N scale. Any opinions on the the best rolling stock for switching. No long "let 'em run" trains here. Years ago, MRC (or MDC?) made great boxcars - they had some weight to them, and great wheels.

As I'm going through a mid-life crisis, I've decided to have a crack at setting up a track layout. Last time I had a train set, I was still in single figures of age. i'm not new to models though, as I have a recent interest in Scalextric, and plastic model kits.
