Hornby Rebuilt WC / BoB - Swivelling Rear Pony Truck11 Jul 2007 22:09 GMT5
I'm afraid that the fixed pony truck with flangeless wheels was a step
too far for me; the flanged wheels derailed the loco even on Peco
medium radius points.
So - I set about modifying the chassis to a conventional swivelling
Automatic layout switching11 Jul 2007 15:37 GMT1
Hi;
I am using MTH Realtrack switches in my O-Gauge layout. It is
shaped as a large (18' x 6') oval. There are 4 switches, one at the
beginning/end of each curve to create a figure eight crossing in the
LNER articulated coaches10 Jul 2007 19:46 GMT6
Probably a silly question, but did LNER articulated coaches have buffers
on the 'in between' coach ends, or just at the outer ends of each set?
Similarly, were there couplings between cars, or was the bogie also the
coupling?  My main source of reference is Volume II of David ...
September exhibition in Southport, Merseyside10 Jul 2007 18:37 GMT5
Can anyone provide details or a link to details of a model railway
exhibition supposedly being held in Southport, Merseyside, on the weekend of
29/30 September?
The event schedule on the page below is usually fairly comprehensive, but

Bits of old clocks,  other plastic scrap and a glue gun
My son was looking through one of his model train mag's and saw an
article about making up 'loads' and came to show me.
I had a think about it and set to work collecting bits of scrap
US F7A/B sets08 Jul 2007 16:31 GMT5
If you buy something like
http://www.athearn.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=ATHG22154 where (as I
understand it) both the A and B units are motored does this mean that the A
and B units can be run separately?   Look at it another way; to run them

Information on Kato Unitrack06 Jul 2007 02:48 GMT6
I am considering the construction of a small layout using the Kato
Unitrack system. (It's a long story on why the usual, more realistic,
flexitrack would not be best in my circumstances.) I cannot find any
detailed discussion about the use of this track. I have questions such
1950s platform surfaces?05 Jul 2007 19:29 GMT3
I'm in the process of putting in a passenger station on my 1950s-era Southern
Californian layout, and I was just wondering what sort of surface the platform
would have to have on it to be accurate for the region.  I'm thinking either
wood boards or concrete slabs, but I would ...
Programming decoders05 Jul 2007 15:11 GMT6
Bit new to this hobby and I've just got a gaugemaster Prodigy Dcc
controller. I would like to programme an 0 6 0 tank engine for realistic
running.
I've been through the book with the controller and found the settings
remotoring n scale C Liner05 Jul 2007 13:58 GMT6
Can anyone tell me where I may find replacement motors (2) for my
Atlas C-Liners.
I can use them as dummies at present, but I am one who doesn't like
"dummy" engines. I believe they should all pull their own load!!!
Catenary advice04 Jul 2007 20:29 GMT25
I'm considering taking the plunge and  making the switch from "imaginary
catenary" to a representation of the system in use on the WCML (circa 1980).
Can anyone recommend a range of masts and associated gubbins which isn't
going to break the bank? To do this properly, I'd need a ...
