| Ntrak Module Design | 16 Aug 2007 22:47 GMT | 9 |
I'm planning a new Ntrak module. I've settled on a design I like, but would like some input on it. It's based on a section of I55 and US66 with some "artistic license" taken. (The UP AFAIK never had a 3 track main, for example.)

| Rapido Passenger Cars - Erie Lackawanna - Virus or some crap attached | 16 Aug 2007 22:31 GMT | 12 |
I thought I'd answer the question with the address of a company that shows Erie cars as in stock, but alas, responding tries to dig around on my computer. Intentional or not, avoid posts from the sender of that one. There have been quite a few of those around here lately, so be ...

| DCC reversing loop question | 14 Aug 2007 20:56 GMT | 3 |
I have a track plan including a reversing loop with some sidings off it. I'm going DCC and by the looks of things everything within the loop inc. sidings will be connected to the output of a reversing module. Given that only one loco will enter or exit the loop at any

| Helper Locomotives | 14 Aug 2007 19:23 GMT | 24 |
I've seen it in prototype operation and I've seen it on film where a locomotive will be put somewhere in the middle of a train to help move a really heavy load such as a coal unit train. But can someone tell me how this actually works.

| Exhibtions | 14 Aug 2007 18:29 GMT | 15 |
I've only been to two but they were like chalk and cheese in many ways. The first I went to was in a school hall on a Sunday AM. Probably not the most popular time but especially with few people around there seemed to be plenty of space. The second (which is what prompted the ...

| Fidle yard dilemma? | 14 Aug 2007 16:08 GMT | 10 |
Many thanks for all the comments on my new layout. I've now decided to stick an extra board on for the sidings, making it a rather fat 'L' shape. Trouble is, my layout dicates where this board had to go, and it's not

| Armoured vehicles and loading gauge... | 13 Aug 2007 21:46 GMT | 46 |
I read recently (it might even have been here) that tanks have to be carried by road transporter rather than by rail as they are too wide to fit within the British loading gauge. When did this practice begin? Have British tanks always been too wide or is it a relatively modern ...

| Power routing or Non-power routing turnout?? | 12 Aug 2007 22:17 GMT | 3 |
I am constructing a small HO layout using Kato Unitrack. The turnouts can be set for power routing (the default setting) or non-power routing. The change between the two reuires shifting only 2 screws. Kato recommends the power routing for DC operations, and the non-power

| Building the baseboard | 12 Aug 2007 20:55 GMT | 7 |
In some ways this is a slightly tongue in cheek question but then again..... Has anyone ever used shelving such as http://www.bigdug.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_Small_Business_Starter_Kits.html as the baseboard? I'm contemplating building a 4mx4m shed (or maybe 4x5) to
