Drive worm slipping off :-(11 Aug 2007 22:34 GMT4
Does the drive worm on the motor of some of the smaller Hornby models
like 0-4-0's have a retaining washer in-situ ?   The one on my son's
Virgin 0-4-0 shunter keeps slipping off and when I attempt to replace
it will not go back on without first pushing a needle through the hold
Model trains recreate rail history11 Aug 2007 20:40 GMT4
" The steady chug of a steam engine and the intermittent clang of a
coal shovel help to set the mood as Ken Throckmorton works the
throttle to send a train off on its course through an elaborate model
railroad, each tiny building and railroad car a labor of love that he
Fitting Lenz Gold Decoder to Hornby Brittania 'William Wordsworth'11 Aug 2007 13:28 GMT8
I'm currently trying to fit a Lenz Gold decoder into a Hornby Brittania
'William Wordsworth' (one of the new ones), and basically I can't get it to
fit. Has anyone here managed to get one in? (a decoder into the loco, that
is ;-)

No more model railways at Llangollen, apparently since four years
ago.  Not so good.

DCC capacitor question10 Aug 2007 15:19 GMT8
I've had trouble with DCC locos stopping and taking a while to get
restarted form time to time, usually over points and the like.  Note
that there are no capacitors across the motors here, which I know
cause trouble for DCC.
Which Kadee couplers for Athearn 200-ton crane?10 Aug 2007 14:31 GMT1
Can anyone tell me which Kadee couplers will work best on an old (but
new enough to be plastic) Athearn 200-ton crane kit?  I tried a few of
the different ones that I have on hand, and couldn't find one that
would fit, and I didn't see this kit listed on Kadee's list of
RTR self powered vehicle for 16mm track10 Aug 2007 10:15 GMT5
I would be grateful if anyone could point me in the direction of a
loco or vehicle that runs on 16mm track and carries its own battery so
that it doesn't pick up from the track.
Thank You,
Decoder For Hornby Rebulit BoB10 Aug 2007 08:49 GMT8
Just got one of these an wondered if anyone had fitted one and if so
which one. I operate Digitrax DCC so would not consider ZTC decoders,
work erractlicly with Digitrax (from personal experience), or Hornby as
they don't appear to fully implement NMRA standards from what I have
Salvaging old track09 Aug 2007 22:54 GMT5
I am about to move my old layout to a new location and have just started
lifting track.  The track in the fiddle yard and unballasted areas is not
the problem but when I reach areas that are ballasted it is very hard to
lift the track without damaging it I find.
Bachmann class 47.09 Aug 2007 22:02 GMT5
Anyone have any first impressions.  As it is the tradition with Bachmann
locos, will they need a couple of goes to get one that I will buy?
Cheers,
Rob.
