turnout toggle controls15 Oct 2007 19:41 GMT30
years ago I had a layout with a panel of toggle switches ( I think from
radio shack) that allowed me to control undermounted atlas switch machines.
Building new layout and now I am not sure what type I need.  I am looking
for the same function as the atlas snap switch control boxes ...
Athearn painted but unlettered boxcars15 Oct 2007 13:39 GMT4
Does anyone know where I can find a quantity of Athearn 40' boxcar kits that
are painted but unlettered?  One of the major mail order hobby shops used to
offer them regularly, but I haven't seen them recently.  Undecs are still
available, but I'd rather find them painted if ...
Old LIMA Service Sheets15 Oct 2007 13:02 GMT23

Triang R357 and it's threaded screw15 Oct 2007 11:27 GMT18
Finally got around at looking at my sons other donated loco
properly  ... a Triang R357 Class 31 Diesel Electric Brush Type 2.
The X.03 motor looks as if it's had a rough life.
The wheels look as if they have never been cleaned.

Class 33/114 Oct 2007 19:49 GMT2
I'd quite like a Class 33/1 to take me back to my youth when I used to
hang around Branksome train station :)
Will the Heljan Class 33/1 go round first radius curves? If not, did Lima
ever produce a Class 33/1 with the bagpipes on the end; or only a Class

I order consumer electronics from him regularly. In spite of being
FREIGHT CARS AND TERMINALS - a fascinating read!13 Oct 2007 03:55 GMT4
Folks:
Just when I think the Internet is a vast cesspool of wasted effort, I
run into
something like this:

Hornby Railroad Bargain12 Oct 2007 13:58 GMT5
I've just bought my first Hornby Railroad item a black oil tank wagon.
It cost me GBP 3.50 brand new and boxed. The same local model shop wanted
more than that for a second hand unboxed one... It looks great and it's
not too fragile, although it does have plastic wheels which ...
Loading gauges12 Oct 2007 12:25 GMT6
Can anyone think of any examples of two loading gauges being suspended from
a single gantry over two separate tracks? My problem being that I don’t
want to have the damned things everywhere however I really should have one
on each of two parallel tracks and I was just wondering ...
Pulling Power - Hornby Live Steam A412 Oct 2007 08:29 GMT3
Here's a question.  Hopefully someone will be able to answer it from
experience rather than repeating something unsubstantiated from elsewhere.
What's the hauling capacity of a Hornby Live Steamer?  I.E. How many
coaches?
