I heard about this cheap range back in July in a Taunton toy shop, I was told these are produced by the old Lima plants aquired by Hornby. The quality looks good - I am not that bothered about super fine detailing - and its hard to believe the prices - whats the catch?

| Small steam... | 11 Oct 2007 17:41 GMT | 14 |
I'm thinking that I'd like to have a modern looking, small steam engine for my HO scale layout. I'm not a stickler for prototype, so I'm looking for a good trade-off between performance & value. I was thinking that I'd like to have an Atlantic, but the only one I know of there ...

I've lost the original thread stating that a Airfix Class 31 hauled 105 coaches. According to my 1988 Dapol catalog, it was a Dapol ex Airfix Class 31 that holds this record. Also, a Prairie Tank loco pulled 60 "B"

| Serviceable vs. can motors | 08 Oct 2007 21:30 GMT | 13 |
There is currently a very heated debate on the Hornby.com forum about the type of motors used in Hornby loco's. The battle lines are drawn between those who would like a return to serviceable motors like the old X.03 & X.04 but in a modern version and those who feel the can

I have a small problem with using the finescale Code 55 N Gauge track in so much as that when laying the track the rails naturally lengthen and shorten around bends etc. I have though tried to pull one rail through the sleeper bed to connect into a rail joiner however I cannot

Local friend, a tinplate enthusiast, received about 6 or so brass locos from a friend who had them stored, unpainted since original purchases. I was asked to get them in running shape. One that I had to tune up was a United Models, Union Pacific 0-6-0, that
