Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch scale question?22 Nov 2007 20:21 GMT9
Meant to ask this question when Bachmann's railway calendar first arrived
last year instead of leaving it until now but what is the approximate scale
of the R, H & D's locomotives in relation to their full size counterparts?
Half, third, quarter?

Help in indentifying an old HO engine...21 Nov 2007 17:28 GMT31

up in Norwalk - and Athearn was "just down the street" in Carson - it
was easy to assume that it was an Athearn. It "looks" like an Athearn -
-- everyone that sees it (including me for the longest) *thinks* ...

Models that turn in to kits20 Nov 2007 03:03 GMT13
Not a complaint... but a repair story.
I picked up a N scale Kato GP50 at a show today, and ran it around a bit
on the layout.  Noticing it ran rather fast at low voltages and wanting
to confirm there was no decoder inside, I opened the case to take a look.

Handrail knobs and wire19 Nov 2007 20:19 GMT2
After many years have got back to detailing some locos ( 2-6-2T 82004 comes
to mind as one) and have forgotten what diameter wire is ideal for 00 locos,
I see Mainly Trains have 0.45, 0.7 and 0.9mm wire . Also are the handrail
knob holes large enough for the 0.9mm?  It may come ...
Bachmann Website and Inlay Card Error19 Nov 2007 17:05 GMT2
Probably not of much interest to many here, but I noticed a while ago that
Bachmann incorrectly stated on their website for the new Standard 4MT Mogul
that:
"...All Southern locomotives had BRIB [sic] 4725 gallon tenders, which were

It has appeared in the railway press and on this group, but not in the Hull Trains website, that the plan to cover for the broken Pioneer consists of running 86101+5xmk3+dvt for the Kings Cross - Doncaster section to be met by a Pioneer at Doncaster, with cross platform ...
