| LED Lights for 00 | 20 Dec 2007 18:36 GMT | 2 |
I would like to fit on my layout some LED signal lights, but I am not sure what to use, such as the combination of lights on points and where to use them. I am building a layout dated around 1980's.

| Gradients | 19 Dec 2007 15:26 GMT | 6 |
I am planning a 2mm layout in a particularly small space [to me] of 18" by 3 foot, It will be a single line branch terminus with some local passenger services. What I need to know is the maximum gradient on a tight curve that I can get the majority of current trains up, assuming ...

| Question about switches/turnouts | 19 Dec 2007 15:11 GMT | 21 |
Been away from model trains for over 30 years now. I guess I'm entering my second childhood now since I want to get back into it. I really like what DCC can do, so I bought a small Bachmann HO DCC set to tinker around with. Nothing really fancy, but not a bad deal to get my ...

| DCC mixed equipment question | 19 Dec 2007 12:49 GMT | 10 |
I am running a Digitrax system DB150 with DT400 and two UT1 throttles. While I started with Digitrax decoders, I have been swapping them out for TCS decoders as the Digitrax die. Two of my latest changes were swapping a DN121 for a DP2x and replacing

I thought you might enjoy a 1953 picture of the C&NW station in Escanaba, Michigan. My father took this picture during a trip to take his father back to Michigan after living with us in California. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image ...

| [HO] line poles | 18 Dec 2007 09:44 GMT | 1 |
This sure looks convenient... HO scale "totally wired" telephone poles: http://www.rapidotrains.com/telegraph6.html Thirty-five dollars for a dozen poles seems steep... but stringing wires often isn't fun, either.

| Portable Doubledecker? | 18 Dec 2007 07:03 GMT | 3 |
I'm considering adding a second deck to my model railroad. It's designed to be modular and portable, and has been moved several times quite easily. Any advice is welcome, but I've got a question. Would I need a micro- adjust on the second deck? If the top is level, shouldn't ...

| HO scale railroad spikes: history question | 18 Dec 2007 06:54 GMT | 12 |
When did HO scale railroad spikes first come into use, and who "invented" them? 5-string banjo players use them as a capo, inserted in the fingerboard, for the short fifth string. I am interested in finding out which banjo

| Newbie questions | 18 Dec 2007 03:41 GMT | 5 |
It's been decades since I cranked up my old Lionel trains so my question may sound dumb as I am years out of date. Thanks for your assistance. 1. What is "fastrack?" I understand the difference between O and O27

| MRC Railmaster - Overload keeps tripping | 18 Dec 2007 01:26 GMT | 21 |
Please try not to laugh as you read a posting from this novice... I'm finishing up a few new track loops on my HO layout. One loops is working nicely, on the other the engine runs a few seconds and then my overload trips. I have given the track a onceover three times and haven't ...
