Poole Model Toys & Trains Collectors Fair25 Jan 2008 03:52 GMT1
Does anyone know the dates of the next Model Toys & Trains Collectors
Fair in Poole/Broadstone?  The people who run it seem to think it's some
kind of secret society and don't publish the dates on the web ;)

Business car24 Jan 2008 22:05 GMT3
I am thinking of building an O or G scale business car, probably starting
with a commercially available car, such as the 1:29 observation from
Aristo-Craft.  Anyone have suggestions or sources re detail interior or
exterior parts?  Or perhaps a better starting point?

Protype railroad vehicles24 Jan 2008 07:08 GMT3
On a prototype railroad mail list a request for pix of railroad trucks and
vehicles was posted.  Seems all roads had delivery and maintenance
vehicles.  Found some of the pix rather interesting and this made me think
about railroad vehicles on layouts.  Perhaps this is an overlooked ...
Guage23 Jan 2008 17:58 GMT166
Seeing the word guage used instead of gauge really gets up my nose, I
also browse a guitar forum and see it used there also. I did a google
on it and found this

Athearn electrical insanity (kinda long)23 Jan 2008 17:24 GMT12
I've been struggling with my Athearn since I converted it to DCC.  I
replaced most of the friction type electricals with solder and connectors.
I still have the "black" rail pickup going thru the truck/chasis pivot
though.  And this is where the problem seems to be.  It seems to ...

My first article appears in 08 Railroad Model Planning and it's about my

Anyone know of a source here in U.S. for a replacement motor for an old
Rivarossi H0 Krauss-Maffei diesel,  or for inexpensive replacement ball
bearings for it?

i think this group needs to be moderated23 Jan 2008 11:10 GMT3
This used to be a great way to communicate, idiots have turned your internet
news group into a complete mess.
It might be time to have a moderator appointed and get rid of these fools
and let them loose somewhere else

Hand laid hand spiked track on foam?23 Jan 2008 06:57 GMT8
Does it work?  Do the wood ties have enough grip on the track spikes
all by them selves?  Last time I handlaid, the roadbed was soft pine so
the track spikes had more wood to grab onto.
