I just bought two Trakmats: R9086 [for Thomas] and R8217 advertised as
new for 2008. Both arrived with the part number X5430 and are
identical. There are other trakmats [eg R8011] but will these all be
X5430?

I have a Digitrax system and I'm pretty comfortable programming my Digitrax
decoders but have screwed up enough of them to know that I should ask
questions with something new.  I have just purchased a Broadway Limited
Paragon EMD E7A-B-B set with Quantum Sound and a powered A&B ...

Here are some pictures of the current incarnation of my miniDCC project.  I
moved everything to a project box, changed the keyboard and added binding
posts for the track connections.  Still needs some finishing work to clean
up the openings and labeling.  I think I'll sand and ...

I'm hoping someone out there remembers the Athearn "Little Monster"
0-4-2T from the 1960's.
After several months detailing, painting, etc. et. al., everything was

When did BR blue start and end and at what point did other company colours
appear such as EWS, Dutch Grey, Coal Sector, and other companies.

Having now exhausted my supply of driving tyres for both  Lima &
Mainline (DE & DH outline etc) I wonder if there is a commercial
supply available?

Hi since the company I work for here in Sydney Australia (Independent Rail -
www.mistrail.com) has a whole stack of the ex-DSB series-3 MZ-class diesel
locos I'm looking to buy one (or more) of Roco's excellent-looking series-2
HO scale MZ models which have the in-build LokSound DCC ...

So what system does everyone use for uncoupling? I am not impressed with
either the hornby or peco ramp systems. Any suggestions?

Hi folks, I am a newbie to this group and have a question,
Let me set the stage first,
I have 027 track in the original 27 inch radius on my old Marx
layout. The board is 4'X8' and the outer edge to outer edge

I need to replace some lamps ( 12v incandescent  screw  fitting 5mm
diam base with approx 6mm long x 5mm glass envelope).
I am having no joy with any of the regular model / electrics
suppliers.

I am planning to sell one of the above on Ebay.
I want to get the description exactly right and clarify the R nos.
It appears this particular model was produced 1987 - 89 as R.866
There appears to be a later model, i.e. no R..2283 with sprung buffers etc.

The Hornby BR blue class 56 diesel-electric Co-Co finally put in an
appearance in the shops today.  Initial impressions are that the model looks
like a class 56, and that performance is as good as it looks.
