FGW seat reservations04 Jan 2008 11:42 GMT1
When you book online is there a way of specifying that you want seats in
either the "quiet" or "family" coach?   Alternatively is there a way of
saying you do *not* want to sit in either of these coaches?   I ask because
I found myself in the family coach yesterday - not really a ...

Differences Between Bachmann Products04 Jan 2008 08:39 GMT49
When examining the lines offered by Bachmann in both N and HO scale, I
note that there are the normal lines and then the Spectrum
line....with fewer offerings.
What are the ACTUAL quality differences between the regular and the
Old model RR books04 Jan 2008 04:52 GMT5
When I was a kid and had learned how to use a library, I remember going to
my local public library branch at 73rd and Exchange on Chicago's south side,
right next to the IC's electrified South Chicago commuter branch.  In
addition to what ever I needed for school, I would always ...
Can I post a link to this?04 Jan 2008 03:34 GMT8
A friend of mine has designed with inclinometer specifically for model
railroads. It measures grade and superelevation and displays readings on two
LCD displays.
Kestrel03 Jan 2008 23:15 GMT34
I was just thinking, now that Heljan have successfully produced 'Falcon',
and Bachmann/NRM have almost produced 'Deltic', what could be the next
prototype loco to produce? I was thinking 'Kestrel' as a companion to
'Falcon' :-)

As one who lurks on this group and never posts, I have been wondering
why the group is bedeviled by some clown who posts pictures of nekkid
wimmin.
Then I realized why -- after all, this IS a MODELS group . . . . . .
Bude with a Stanier tender03 Jan 2008 21:13 GMT8
So a well known importer of Chinese products is offering a model of a
Bulleid WC with a Stanier tender... How prototypical is that , if so
how long did it carry that tender and was it the only one....
the model looks hideous to me.
M79971 Airfix03 Jan 2008 17:19 GMT4
A question about the real railbus, for which Airfix, and then Dapol modelled
in their plastic kit. At each end are only two lights:-
Was it both white in the leading end, both red when trailiing, or
One white when leading, one red when trailing. or
Triang X337 Motor Bogie03 Jan 2008 08:10 GMT7
Anybody know how to reverse the polarity on these motor bogies? I have
two that I want to put in an MTK Western Shell but they run in
opposite directions. I just can see how to change the polarity.

Working table lamps for business car.03 Jan 2008 05:57 GMT19
Tried a new  -to me-  trick this afternoon while building the interior for a
fancy privately-owned business car: I cooked up some working table (and one
free-standing) lamps to light the interior.
I started by running a small diameter light pipe up through a section of

Locomotive grafting02 Jan 2008 18:37 GMT4
OK, here's the scoop... I've always liked the looks of the C&O heavy Mikado
with the flying pumps & the Elesco feedwater heater on the smokebox.  Well,
the other night, I found out that my NKP actually leased some of those very
engines from the C&O to ease a locomotive shortage ...
