Hornby Lyddle End29 Feb 2008 21:04 GMT7
What scale are these please (I know they're marketed for N-gauge) but they
seem very small when compared with other British 1/148th scale structures?
Have Hornby produced them to the European standard of 1/160th scale?

Can anyone recommend DCC fitting service in the South East of the UK, or

How did the prototypes use the dual headlights on F units? Which of
the special effects in DCC decoders are most realistic?

'Model Rail' subscription offer ?28 Feb 2008 00:29 GMT3
I noted in the March 2008 edition of 'Model Rail' the subscription
offer included a 'free' spray gun 'worth' £20.  Half the description
was missing but it looks like you get the gun plus two jars in the
offer.  The gun itself only goes down to 3 mm so is not very fine.

Advice on layout26 Feb 2008 23:51 GMT33
Hello. I would appreciate some advice on building a layout for N
scale. I already have the 4x8 ply framed and mounted at 42" high, but
now I'm a bit confused. Should I use another 4x8  foam or similar on
top of the plywood as the layout base?

train oders24 Feb 2008 03:48 GMT12
See how to make an operating (I wish) train order rack and how to use it. If
I could get the engineer to stick his arm out the window and grab it on the
fly, I would. See my compromise at;   http://www.rrscenery.com

Noisy Bachman engines.23 Feb 2008 16:41 GMT1
I have 3 N scale  Bachman Santa Fe Diesel  Engines and I'd like to
use them but they all make the same noise, like a sewing machine, too
loud compared to my other engines. Is there a trick to reduce this
noise? It seems characteristic of this brand and model since all 3
