Telltale construction10 Jun 2008 01:14 GMT12
I would like to build a few telltales as warnings at tunnel approaches
on my layout.  Now comes the (I hope not too dumb) question.  What is
the hanging part of the telltale made of?  Pictures of model telltales
that I have seen are ambiguous at best, and the few prototype photos
DEMU - Burton On Trent09 Jun 2008 21:32 GMT3
We visited there today. Good time and excellent atmosphere - Stewards and
traders very friendly towards his nibs.
Excellent set of traders, couple of shops but good variety of kits and bits
stands.
Driving the golden spike, er golden rail joiner09 Jun 2008 07:06 GMT1
The main line of the Franconia branch of the Boston & Maine Railroad (HO
gauge) is finished today. A car coasts clean around the train room, no
bumps, jumps, lurches or derailments, even when hand pushed at a scale
200 miles per hour. Gotta do some wiring before I can run ...
Inexpensive people & trees07 Jun 2008 13:45 GMT3
Has anyone bought any of the inexpensive people and / or trees that are
almost always in the HO section of eBay?  While they first started
advertising the people as 1:100 or 1:75 scale, they are now advertising them
as HO scale 1:87.  And they look to be reasonably painted... ...

triang dmu motor bother06 Jun 2008 21:22 GMT7
I am ressurecting a couple of old Triang dmus. One of them, after
motor stripping and servicing, is working very smoothly, and after
turning the edges of the wheels, makes far less clatter than it used
to. Now, I have reversed the polarity, making sure to reverse the

Weathering Question05 Jun 2008 17:59 GMT5
Having made such lining errors (not really improving due to anno
domini), I have had resort to heavy weathering although I always try
to maintain a variety of degrees from light to total.   My source is
the cellulose thinners wash pot which with the aid of the addition of
Home made pine road bed takes first track.05 Jun 2008 15:57 GMT21
Milestone reached in layout construction, I put down the first
lengths of flex track last night.  All the benchwork for the
round-the-walls layout is up.  Made the shelf brackets, the plywood
tables, found the studs, sank the drywall screws thru the brackets into

Normally the thickest component is the applicator!     I am not sure
if it is wise to trust a person who indulges children and uses soap!

Where can I find a Class 08 to use as a prototype02 Jun 2008 16:11 GMT12
Where can I find a Class 08 to use as a prototype.
I am building my first 2mm kit a Class 08, does anyone know of an 08
working or otherwise in South East England ?
I need a prototype as the kit can, as far as I can see, model any 08.
Model Railroader Magazines 1936-196401 Jun 2008 22:58 GMT6
When my grandfather passes away I received his complete set of  model
railroader magazines from 1936 to 1964. They are a great source of
material as many of the earlier  issues were full of scratch built
projects. They are also  interesting to read  from a historical view.
