Variable delivery dates from hornby31 Jul 2008 23:43 GMT8
Have been waiting ages for the latest livery Duchess - Br with BRITISH RIL
on the tender. Saw last week that they were in the bigger internet shops (eg
Rails) yet mine from the local toy shop still hasnt arrived and Hornby say
'This order is being processed now, should be with ...
Powerful Booster29 Jul 2008 12:39 GMT1
My club has a need for more power.  (Who did I just hear grunt?)  We've
been looking at our options for several different boosters, and I'd like
some opinions.
We run a Digitrax DCC system for a reasonably large HO scale layout.  One
Dapol wagon kits28 Jul 2008 22:18 GMT13
Whats the general impression of these. Am thinking of the 16 ton LMS/BR
steel, esp are they reasonably accurate given the cost of £3.50 or so. ?
Realise theyre not the best as none of the layout descriptions mention them
in the line up, its always "wagons built from kits, mostly ...

The dapol site says it's a HO/OO version of the "famous" Tomix “Scrub -
Vacuum – Polish” Motorised Track Cleaner...
Does anyone have any experience of the Tomix N-gauge version?
Hexagon rather than circle?24 Jul 2008 22:29 GMT3
On my layout design, I have what could be described as a "folded dogbone".
Access to the inside of the layout will be given between the loops.
Currently, I'm working on a preliminary design of the borders, and have
begun to wonder if using a hexagon or octagon shape would look ...

Athearn Genesis F-7 Lights Help22 Jul 2008 15:37 GMT1
I recently found an Athearn Genesis F-7 at a show, no box or instructions.
This weekend I installed a Digitrax DH163 decoder, and all works well.
However, I note the model has a second red light in the upper position on
the nose.  The leads to this light are not connected to the ...

Snow Covered O Gauge Track22 Jul 2008 03:22 GMT5
Does anyone know of any commercially available O gauge, snow-covered track?
Something like the G gauge track that comes with Lionel's Christmas Special
train.
If not, what is the easiest way to create such a thing using FasTrack or

Whilst dropping off some items at one of our local charity shops I can
across what looks like a model of a French chateau.  At first I
thought is was made of resin but it appears too heavy,   so I am
thinking some sort of ceramic.
Turntables19 Jul 2008 09:17 GMT6
I have the Peco turntable, which is adequate to my needs, but
bringing the rails to the bridge is proving not wholly intuitive.
The plastic thingies they supply are alright in their way, but
appear to require the filing of a slot in the rail foot (not an

I came up with an idea to make Athearn dinner cars represent sleeper/lounge
